05/19/2009 | RONALD BROWN | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. West entrance ramp and landing: Comments on large scale details shown on Sheet A-2 a. Strike side of door on the outside must have 18" clearance as per ANSI 117.1, Section 404.2.3.1 (a). b. Contimue handrails to face of building wall. c. 5'-0" clearance is from inside face of handrail to inside face of handrail. 2. North entrance ramp and landing to Patio: a. Continue handrail around side and top of landing to patio edge. b. Provide handrail on both sides of ramp. c. Provide 5'-0" clearance from inside face of handrail to inside face of handrail at landing. 3. Previous Comments Number 10 required a FULL SIZED set of Butler Building Construction Drawings be included with the submittals. What is attached is an 11 x 17 reduced set of drawings which makes details and notes too small to read. Please resubmit a FULL SIZED set of metal building construction drawings to the submittal package. |

06/03/2009 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Comment not resolved. The engineer from Butler Manufacturing has provided information that confirms that the new roof can adequately support the fan coils. Detail 24/A8, however, does not show how the fan coils are to be attached to the supporting structure. The detail shows beam clamps attached to floor joists that appear to be wide flange beams. Show how the fan coils are being connected to the actual building structure which consists of Z-purlins. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2006. 2. Comment not resolved. By themselves, the U-value calculations on sheet A8 do not suffice to show energy compliance of the building envelope. See Chapter 5 of the 2006 IECC to determine the energy compliance of the building addition. (Alternatively, the program COMCheck can be used to show energy compliance of the building.) Reference: Section 101.4, International Energy Conservation Code 2006. |
