02/03/2009 | DAVE MANN | FIRE | REVIEW | Denied | Please indicate fire hydrant locations on plan. Show location of proposed "No Parking - Fire Lane" signs. Please be advised that alarms and sprinklers are separate and deferred submittals, so approval of these plans will not constitute approval of sprinkler and fire alarm systems. It appears there may be a small community kitchen. This may require a Type 1 hood and fire suppression system. Check with Mechanical reviewer. Also, FP sheets show a double check backflow preventer. Tucson Fire would prefer this is NOT installed. Check valve on riser is sufficient protection. |

02/24/2009 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Provide energy code compliance calculations (use Pima County < 4,000 feet). Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the fenestration components. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006. 2. Provide a Type I hood over all domestic cooking appliances (e.g. the range in room C-204) used for commercial purposes. Reference: Section 507.2.3, IMC 2006. 3. 03/02/2009 | RAY MAJUTA | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | Project: 4975 S Liberty Av T09CM00249 Senior Housing / Apts The electrical plans have been denied for the following, 1. The size of conductors, conduits, and number of paralleled sets which are to be used for the service entrance conductors are listed on sheet E1.0 , are also to be printed on sheet E5.1, the one line diagram where only the conduits are shown. 2.Sheet E5.0 the load for the range on the individual unit panels are listed as 9000va which equal 43.2 amps at 208 v, the panel has a 40 amp cb for over-current protection. 3. Sheet E5.0, the load calculations for the one bedroom panels are only single phase using 240 volts. DSA load= 910860 va times .29= 264149.4 divided by 240 v=1100.6. If divided by 208 v amount woul be 1270 amps, the system voltage is 120/208v 3 phase. Also what will happen to the un-used third leg ? There are three 3 phase panels evenly loaded , while 38 of the single phase unit panels are single phase , which do not show a rotation on the three phase system.Overall the system is not balanced. 4.Heating and cooling receptacles are missing on the roof for CU units. 5.The water heater circuits 20,22 should be 22,24. They are different on the power plan. 6. Bell transformers on the power plan show going to circuit 12, panel schedule shows blank. 7. Sheet E5.1 showing the feeders from the MCR with 3 1/0's and a #6 after a 150 main CB going to a first floor panel, then somehow the feeders change to # 2 conductors and feed the 2nd floor panel. These # 2 feeders to the second floor panels cannot be protected by the same 150 a CB. Can you clerify this? Ray T Majuta Elect Plan CK DSD City of Tucson 3/4/09 |
