07/27/2009 ERIC NEWCOMB ZONING HC SITE REVIEW Approved
07/29/2009 RICK MYERS PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Provide a site utility plan; include the location of the RPPBP. The site drawing to include the location of the connection to the Public Sanitary Sewer. Reference: COT development standard #2-05.02.3 and section 103.2.2 2006 UPC.
2. Include in the Plumbing Specifications material types for all piping. Provide the method of sterilization for the domestic water piping. Include the insulation requirements and materials.
3. Provide the diagram on sheet 801 mentioned in the comment responses pertaining to the mixing valves for public use lavatories.
4. All branch piping more than five feet from the main to have a clean-out. Show all clean-outs on the plumbing isometric. Reference 707.4 2006 UPC.
5. Combination waste and vent systems require a vent downstream of the uppermost fixture. Reference 910.3 2006 UPC.
6. Complete the design for the natural gas piping by including all of the gas loads that are served by the same meter. It appears that the largest loads (HWB1, HWB2, SWB1, and SWB2) are not included in the design. Vents for the pressure reducing valves in room 102 are not shown. In addition, the detail on sheet P-801 does not show the gas meter with its total load, delivery pressure, and longest developed pipe length as a reference point.
7. Comment not addressed. Complete the waste and vent isometrics on sheet P-502 (i.e. show the pipe sizes). Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
8. Comment not resolved. Provide a design and details for the drains and overflows for the new roof sections. The proposed design lacks does not provide sufficient information (e.g. the areas of the roofs being drained and dimensions of the drains, scuppers, and gutters) for a code review. Clarify how or if the existing roofs contribute to the storm water flow across the new roofs. The code requires that all roofs be drained using either gutters or roof drains; allowing the expanded cardio roof to simply drain off of the edge of the roof is not acceptable. Reference: Sections 103.2.3, 1101.11, and 1106.0, UPC 2006.
07/29/2009 RMYERS1 WATER REVIEW Denied 1. Provide a site utility plan, include the location of the RPPBP and show the size and location of the yardwater piping.
2. Tucson Water limits a 2” meter to a maximum demand of 80 GPM. Provide a letter from Tucson Water confirming that the use of a 2” water meter will be allowed for this project with a demand of 85 GPM. Reference: Sections 610.2 and 610.12, UPC 2006
07/31/2009 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Revise the submitted envelope energy calculations to use the correct location for the project; the town of Pima (zone 3b) is located northwest of Safford, Arizona. Reference: Section 104.2, IECC 2006.
2. Clarify how continuous insulation has been applied to the basement walls and exterior wall 1. The R-value for continuous insulation is strictly for insulation added to the described wall assembly; the R-value of the described wall assembly is already included in the calculations. Reference: Section 104.2, IECC 2006. Reference: Section 104.2, IECC 2006.
3. Provide supporting documentation (e.g. mass and R-value calculations for exterior wall 2) for the wall assembly described as "other" and indicate where it occurs on the plans. Reference: Section 104.2, IECC 2006.
4. Verify the construction, U-factor, and SHGC for the curtain wall (window 1). The window schedule shown on sheet A-601 shows two windows that are not for interior use and neither indicates the construction of the window assembly or type of glazing. Reference: Section 104.2, IECC 2006.
5. Verify the construction of the two floor types shown in the energy code analysis. The energy analysis calls out heated slab-on-grade construction; indicate where this occurs. Reference: Section 104.2, IECC 2006.
6. Revise the submitted ventilation calculations to comply with the space occupancy requirements of Section 403.3, IMC 2006.
