02/03/2009 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Coordinate the plumbing floor plan and the waste and vent isometric with the architectural floor plan. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
2. Coordinate the plumbing floor plan and the water isometric; the hot water pipe sizes do not agree. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
3. Coordinate the gas piping plan with the gas diagram; the gas piping plan shows a 1-1/2" pipe feeding the automatic valve and 2" gas header. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
4. Vented flow control devices for hydromechanical grease interceptors shall be located in readily accessible and visible locations unless the device is integral to the interceptor. Reference: Section 1014.2.1, UPC 2006.
5. Clarify the extension of the 2" sanitary drain that runs south from the vegetable prep sink on the plumbing plan and terminates with a break line. It is also shown on the waste and vent isometric but there it occurs between two floor drains (P-3). Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
6. Provide material standards for all plumbing fixtures being provided by others. All plumbing fixtures and fittings shall be listed or labeled by a nationally-recognized, accredited conformity assessment company (e.g. UL, ETL, UPC, NSF, etc). Reference: Sections 301.1.1 and 401.1, UPC 2006.
7. Show how the installation of the wall-mounted fixtures complies with the requirements of Section 407.4, UPC 2006.
8. Provide a direct waste connection for the wash and rinse sections of the 3-compartment sink, with an indirect connection for the sanitizing compartment only. Reference: Sections 304.0 and 801.2.3, UPC 2006.
9. Show that the indirect waste piping complies with the requirements of Section 803.0 with respect to length.
02/03/2009 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Comment not resolved; the flue terminates within ten feet of the forced air inlet to AC-1. Revise the termination point of the water heater flue to comply with Section 510.6.2.6, UPC 2006 (i.e. at least 3 feet above any forced air inlet located within 10 feet of the flue).
2. Show that the make up air duct within 18" of the Type I exhaust hood complies with the requirements of Section 506.3.1.2, IMC 2006.
3. Comment not resolved. The total exhaust volume for the hood is 4400 CFM but only 3800 CFM of make up air is being supplied by EC-1. Where is the remaining 600 CFM of make up air coming from? Provide adequate make up air for the kitchen exhaust hood. (Note that the ventilation calculations for AC-1 and AC-2 are incorrect as currently shown. AC-2 provides 2,000 CFM according to the floor plan, the "dining room" should be for "fast food/cafeteria", and general storage areas receive 0.12 CFM/SF, not 0.06 CFM/SF.) Reference: Section 508.1 IMC 2006.
