Reference: Section 413.1, UPC 2006 and Section 504.3, IECC 2006. 6. Provide an expansion tank or other approved device for controlling thermal expansion for the storage-type water heater. Reference: Section 608.3, UPC 2006. 7. Verify that the installation of the vacuum relief valve conforms to the manufacturer's listing and installation requirements (e.g. shut off valve locate between the relief valve and the water heater).
