La Cienega Dr. Applicant: James Howell Plan review for the above referenced structure has been completed. This letter reflects comments to be addressed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. SCOPE OF REVIEW: The scope of this plan review includes architectural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and energy conservation. The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2006 International Residential Code with local amendments. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Provide two copies of the corrected set of drawings (no clouds or revision numbers please) along with a set of the first submission (cloud corrections on this set please). All corrections and revisions shall be made on original tracings or finished reproducible set. Pen or pencil corrections on final prints will not be acceptable. To avoid delays, ensure that all corrections have been made, are complete, and have been coordinated on all applicable detail and note sheets. FLOOR PLANS: 2. Provide natural ventilation for the music room. Openable area to the outdoors shall be a minimum 4% of the floor area being ventilated, R303.1 3. Specify safety glazing in hazardous locations (within 24" of doorways), R308.4. 4. Specify locations of braced wall panels or designate continuous sheathing, R403.1.6, R602.10.1.1, R602.10.8. FOUNDATION PLANS: 5. Specify all footing dimensions, R403.1.1. 6. Provide a note for termite treatment, R320 as amended. SECTIONS - DETAILS: 7. Specify a 1" air space between sheathing and brick veneer, R703.7.4.2. 8. Specify either 5/8" or ½" sag resistant ceiling gypsum board when applied to ceilings framed at 24" o/c, IRC table R702.3.5 footnote d. 9. Provide accurate cross section references. Ref: section views lettered or numbered; reference to footing details on section view. ELECTRICAL PLAN: 10. Designate the circuit number on the electrical layout for all outlets (lights, receptacles, fans, etc.), E3603.5.
