Plan review for the above referenced structure has been completed. This letter reflects comments to be addressed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken.

SCOPE OF REVIEW:
The scope of this plan review includes architectural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and energy conservation. The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2006 International Residential Code with local amendments. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Provide two copies of the corrected set of drawings (no clouds or revision numbers please) along with a set of the first submission (cloud corrections on this set please). All corrections and revisions shall be made on original tracings or finished reproducible set. Pen or pencil corrections on final prints will not be acceptable. To avoid delays, ensure that all corrections have been made, are complete, and have been coordinated on all applicable detail and note sheets.

2. White Out is not acceptable on construction drawings.
3. Clarify the dimensions of the proposed addition. The Site plan, Floor plan, and the Foundation plan disagree with each other.
4. Specify gas or electric for the water heater and provide either a gas line isometric or include in electrical calculations.

SITE PLAN:
5. Provide accurate loading criteria for roof design. Roof framing: Dead load = 15psf / Live load = 20psf R301.2.2.2.1, Table R301.5.

FLOOR PLANS:
6. Specify the size of the master bedroom window, as well as the type and operable portion. Ensure compliance with emergency rescue openings per R310.

ELEVATIONS:
7. Provide an attic space ventilation calculation and note the size and location of all attic vents needed to comply, R806.2.

PLUMBING PLAN:
8. Provide a fixture unit schedule for the entire property (including existing) for the water supply system with appropriate fixture unit values, UPC Tables 6-5.
9. Provide the maximum developed length of water line from the meter the furthest appliance served, the size of the water meter, and the diameter of the water supply line from the meter, UPC Table 6-6.
10. Correct the water conservation requirements for sinks: Sinks = 2.2gpm maximum, P2903.2.
11. Correct the requirement for sanitary drainage testing. Minimum 10 foot head for fluid test, P2503.4.

ELECTRICAL PLAN:
12. Clarify the size of the electric service panel (100 amp or 200 amp?).
13. Provide a note that requires smoke detectors to be interconnected with a power source from the building wiring, and shall be equipped with battery backup. When ceiling finish materials are not removed, existing bedrooms may be equipped with battery operated smoke detectors, R313.
14. Bedroom outlets shall be protected with combination-type arc-fault breakers (receptacles, lights, and smoke detectors), E3802.12.

INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE:
15. Specify a "U" factor and solar heat gain coefficient of the windows and doors that meets or exceeds the requirements of N1102.1. The simplified prescribed energy value for climate zone 2B glazing and skylights is U=0.75, the default SHGC is 0.40.
