10/15/2008 | ROBERT SHERRY | WATER | REVIEW | Denied | The pressure drop shown for the existing water meter (8 PSI) appears to be excessive. What is the size of the existing water meter and what is the total connected demand on the meter? Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. |
10/15/2008 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Clarify the scheduled gas demand of 439 CFH as compared to the "new gas load" for the gas meter of 559 CFH noted on sheet P.2 and a "total load of 925 CFH" shown in general note #11. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 2. Provide a detail of the water heater installation, including the valves, expansion tank, flue size, flue height, and flue termination. Reference: Sections 103.2.3, 605.5, 608.3, and 608.7 UPC 2006. 3. Does the hand sink located in the eastern side of room 103 have a vent and if so, where is it terminating (e.g. through the roof or connecting to another vent)? Reference: Sections 103.2.3 and 901.1, UPC 2006. 4. Clarify how the waste lines from the two hand sinks in room 103 are connected to the building drain. Reference: Sections 103.2.3 and 1001.1, UPC 2006. 5. Provide a floor drain in the kitchen dishwashing area. Reference: Sections 411.2.2 and 704.3, UPC 2006. 6. Provide the rim elevation of the next upstream sanitary manhole and the first floor elevation. Determine the need for a backwater valve per Section 710.1, UPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 7. Provide vent piping of sufficient size to comply with Section 904.1, UPC 2006. Vents located upstream from pumps, ejectors, grease interceptors, backwater valves, or other devices that obstruct the free flow of gases between the building sewer and the outside atmosphere shall not be used for meeting the required cross-sectional vent area. 8. Based on the submitted fixture connection schedule, and adding the dishwasher and the existing restroom fixtures, a total of 17 water fixture units are supplied by the existing 1" water supply to the suite. The water calculations on sheet P.2, with an allowable friction loss of 2.93 PSI per 100 feet, can only support a demand of 12 water fixture units. Reference: Section 610.1, UPC 2006. |
10/16/2008 | RAY MAJUTA | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | Project# T08CM03212 7088 E Speedway TI Pizza Hut The plan has been denied for the followinf items, provid response for individual items and indicate actions taken to resolve them. 1.Sheet E-1 key note3 shows only 3-350 mcm conductors, should be 4-350 mcm conductors. 2.These conductors will be located on the roof can reach tempertures inbetween 115-125 degrees or more easily ,a correction factor for ampacity should be allowed, the correction factor for 114--122 degrees is 75% making the ampacity value of 350 mcm at 233 amps, reconsider this when fusing at 300 .Load required on sheet-E 5 is 288 amps, however on panel schedule A it shows 254.See item # 5, no loads shown for panel B. 3.Sheet E-4 show on plan a diagram on interlock for MUA. 4.Sheet E-5 keynote #7 should show 4-350 mcm's. 5.Panel A shows no loasd for Panel B 6.Panel A also shows no loads for circuits 33,35,34,36,38. 7.Since Panel is now a new panel show load calculations for circuits. 8.Sheet E-5 if the fault current value for the 400 amp service disconnect or Panel A, verify and note a figure for each.
