TABLE 2308.9.1 IS A PRESCRIPTIVE GUIDELINE TO SIZING WALL STUDS, BUT IN NO WAY SUPERCEDES OR REPLACES THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 1607.13. IN ADDITION, THE CONNECTIONS OF THE NEW TOP AND BOTTOM STUD WALL PLATES TO THE EXISTING STRUCTURE MUST BE DESIGNED AND INDICATED ON THE SECTIONS ON SHEETS A3-5, A3-6, AND A3-7. |
