The Code Analysis Data sheet submitted by the architect indicates that the 2006 IPC has been used as the basis for design. This review is based on the 2006 UPC; provide an approved appeal to the building official if the plans are to be reviewed to the 2006 IPC.
2. Clarify detail 202/P2.0 with regard to the fittings depicted for the cleanout. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
3. Resize the drainage piping to conform to Table 7-5, UPC 2003, with no more than 4 2-unit traps on a 2" horizontal waste line. Reference: Section 703.2, UPC 2006.
4. Provide cleanouts sized per Section 707.11, UPC 2006.
5. Clarify detail 201/P2.0 with regard to the location of the AAV; is it in the wall with the riser or in the cabinet? In either case, if it is to be used as a cleanout, it must comply with all of the requirements of Section 707, UPC 2006 for construction, listing, and access, as well as being gas-tight.
6. Provide sufficient information to evaluate the size of the new gas pipe and the effect of the new load on the existing gas piping. Reference Sections 103.2.3 and 1217.0, UPC 2006.
7. Revise the emergency gas shut off valve to be readily accessible. Reference: Section 1212.3 (D), UPC 2006.
8. Show how detail 207/P2.0 meets the intent of Section 1211.1.6, UPC 2006 to allow a gas leak to be identified if the vent is to be located above the roof.
