IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS.

1. Provide the rating of the panel at which the inverter output is to be connected, and the rating of its main. Must comply with NEC 690.64 (B) (2). THIS COMMENT WAS MADE ON THE SUBMITTAL OF 3/18/08. Without the rating of the Main on Panel L it is impossible to determine whether the 30A breaker to interconnect the inverter output, added to this main, exceeds the rating of this 100A panel.
2. Electrical Specifications Sheet E1 #27. XHHW is 75°C and PV takes at least 90°C, optimally 105°C conductor. Suggest XHHW-2, USE-2, or THHN. THIS COMMENT WAS MADE ON THE SUBMITTAL OF 3/18/08. The XHHW specified is only rated for 75°. If you care to use this, please specify "XHHW-2". See NEC Table 310.16 and compare the conductors in the 75° column with those in the 90°C column.
3. Bond the photovoltaic grounding electrode to the one already installed at this building. Reference NEC 690.47 (C) (1). THIS COMMENT WAS MADE ON THE SUBMITTAL OF 3/18/08. This bond needs to be sized. It has to be the larger of the #8 specified for the DC grounding electrode conductor, or the size of the existing AC grounding electrode conductor.
4. Sheet E2 locates the inverter to the interior of the building. On Sheet E4 the inverter is still located on the exterior of the building. Keynote 9 on Sheet E3 still calls for the AC disconnect to be located on the same wall as the inverter. All this needs to be clarified. Single line diagram has the new 30A breaker installed in a panel which contains the service disconnect. This panel is not labeled Panel L on this line diagram so this is not completely certain. Please clarify.
5. Original submittal consisted of Sheets E0 through E9. Sheets E0, E8, and E9 have not been included in the set sealed 3/24/08. Please clarify.
6. Provide the plaque required by NEC 690.56 (B). Provide exact wording. THIS COMMENT WAS MADE ON THE SUBMITTAL OF 3/18/08. Note 29 on Sheet E1 does not provide exact wording for the plaque to be installed at the existing service disconnecting means. Note 29 on Sheet E1 does not provide exact wording for the plaque to be installed at the new photovoltaic disconnecting means.
7. On Sheet E6 it appears that the Grounding Electrode Conductor is broken up at the meter and the panel. Per NEC 250.64 (C) this shall be continuous. UNRESPONSIVE.
