Resubmittal Required: Traffic Engineering does not recommend approval of the PIA Plan; therefore a revised PIA Plan is required for re-submittal.

The following items must be revised or added to the plan.

1. Include a response letter with the next submittal that states how all comments have been addressed.

2. See redlines on the submitted drawings and address the additional redline comments. During the next submittal please re-submit the roll of redlines for back checking purposes.

3. Install R1-1 (Stop Sign) with street names at the proposed roadway entering this development off Harrison Road per PCDOT & TDOT Signing Manual (2002) Chap 5-11, 5-12, and Chap 9-2.

4. Stripe a bike lane along Harrison Road along the right turn lane and the frontage of this development per PCDOT & TDOT Pavement Marking Design Manual (2003) Chapter 3-4 and 4-7.

5. In addition to the Bike lane striping provide a D11-1 (BIKE ROUTE) sign per PCDOT & TDOT Signing Manual (2002) Chap 9-6.

6. Provide a 'RIGHT LANE' (R3-5F) supplemental plaque under the new (R3-5R) along Harrison Road.

7. Place the PIA and CDRC Case number on the cover sheet.

8. See redlines for minor changes to signing and striping notes located on sheet 4.

9. Add the following Pavement Marking/Striping General Notes to the Plans:

'ALL STREET STRIPING & SIGNAGE TO BE COORDINATED WITH C.O.T. TRAFFIC ENGINEERING CALL 791-4259 A MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION OR REMOVAL OF ANY SIGNAGE OR STRIPING. ALL REQUIRED STRIPING AND SIGNAGE WILL BE INSTALLED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE. NEW STRIPING TO BE THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL. USE 2" SQUARE-TUBE POST AND SQUARE TUBE POST FOUNDATIONS FOR SIGNING. 1. Sheet 2 of 4 - Where does the new concrete header begin?
2. Is there any proposed landscaping with this project? If so, please submitt the landscaping and irrigation plan to Paul Rosenboom for review.
3. All work in the right of way needs to be coordinated with Paul Rosenboom at 791-3154 ext 234.

05/10/2007 Blanca Espino DOT ENGINEERING REVIEW Denied PIA Plan
1. Please include a detail letter of explanation with the next submittal indicating where and how revisions were made. Single word responses are unacceptable. Include plans/redlines from previous plan submittal.

2. PIA Plan title/heading should read; Offsite Paving Plans for: Harrison Rd. north of Speedway Blvd., Oasis-Harrison, Book & Page. This heading shall also be reflected in title block. See redlines.

3. Title Block; add the word Section after Permits and Codes. See redlines.

4. Plat must be recorded before submittal of mylars for final review and approval.

5. In title block, add assigned I-Plan Number, I-2007-0017 to all sheets.

6. Indicate assigned DSD activity number T07PI00013 above title block. See redlines.

7. Indicate the administrative address.

8. Pavement Section Design documentation, are in accordance to the approved Geotechnical Report, Report Name and Firm Name, Project Number.

9. All Drainage Infrastructures, indicated on the plans, are in accordance to the approved Drainage Report approved by Development Services Department.

10. The City shall not be held liable for any errors and/or omissions on these plans. Items not meeting City Standards shall be repaired/replaced at no cost to the City.

11. Sheet 1, Paving Note #18 shall read; The extent and type of surface treatments/repairs indicated on the plans may not be all inclusive of the work that is needed. Additional repairs, paving, or replacement may be needed depending on field conditions.

12. The contractor shall contact and/or coordinate any work with COT Streets & Traffic Maintenance Division, Median Island Maintenance Section (791-5279, ext. 234) prior to disturbing any COT/DOT landscaping or irrigation systems. Additionally, the contractor shall repair or replace any disturbed COT/DOT landscaping or irrigation systems, including replacement of any damaged plants. Contact Gary Wittwer @ 400-2645 for inspection and permits for landscaping. For irrigation removal/replacement contact Paul Rosenboom @ 237-7386.

13. Sheet 1, Paving Note #19 shall read; The PIA Inspector shall verify that the "saw cut" line is located within competent pavement. Adjustments to the plan shall be documented and As-built; a one foot minimum shall be provided."

14. Sheet 1, Paving Note #10 shall have this verbiage added; Signage and striping should be coordinated with Traffic Engineering and installed at no expense to the public. Call Traffic Engineering at 791-4259 prior to the installation or removal of striping and signage.

15. Sheet 1, Paving Note #11 shall read; Upon commencement of work, traffic control devices shall be posted and maintained by the contractor until such time as the work is completed. All warning signs barricades etc. shall be in accordance with the manual on uniform traffic control devices adopted by the State of Arizona pursuant to A.R.S. 28-065. Contact Traffic Engineering, 791-4259, 48-hours prior to placing or removing any said traffic control devices.

16. Sheet 1, Paving Note #12 shall read; Contractor shall call Blue Stake as mandated by the Arizona Revised Statutes at 1-800-782-5348 before any construction begins to verify location of existing utilities shown or not shown. Existing utility locations shown hereon are only approximate. It is the contractor's responsibility to confirm horizontal and vertical location of all utilities without damaging same. Damaged utilities shall be repaired at no expense to the City.

17. All Rezoning Conditions pertaining to the rights-of-way must be met as per the approved Tentative Plat dated 12/11/2006. Contact Paul Machado with Development Services @ 837-4932 for corrections to be noted on Tentative Plat. Correct and revise.

18. The approved Tentative Plat indicates sidewalk, curb and handicap ramps along Harrison Road. The PIA plans do not indicate the proposed improvements. Correct and revise as per the approved tentative plat.

19. Harrison Rd. and Speedway Blvd. are both arterial roads as per the MS&R map. Each road has a future widening of 120' full right of way with an intersection widening of 150' full ROW by 300LF with a tapering of another 300LF. Correct and revise.
20. Sheets 2 & 3, indicate the dedication recordation information (docket/page or plat book/page). Correct and revise. See redlines.

21. Sheet 2, Stationing text height shall be 0.12". Correct and revise.

22. Sheet 2, Plan view; indicate the Beginning & Ending (STTJM) Saw-cut, Trim, Tack, Join & Match existing: Stationing, Offset & Elevations. This information shall be noted for every change in Offset.

23. Sheet 2, Stationing in Plan & Profile views shall be aligned. See redlines.

24. Sheet 3, Detail A; indicate the existing, future & widening right-of-way.

25. A dimensioned detail for each type of curb access ramp to be built as part of the project must be shown. Truncated Domes required.
