06/16/2008 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. No approved appeal to the building official has been supplied. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum of 1/8-inch (all upper case). Reference: Section 106.1.1, IBC 2006. 2. The provided structural calculations indicate that hood H2 and exhaust fan E3 must be relocated to avoid overstressing the existing joists but the plans do not reflect the required change. In addition, details are needed to show how the Type I hoods are supported from the building structure. Reference: Section 507.6, IMC 2006. 3. Coordinate the mechanical and electrical drawings to show how the heat sensors located in the hoods are to be interlocked with the exhaust fans (i.e. provide control wiring diagrams) so that the operation of the Type I hoods and the hood exhaust fans comply with Section 507.2.1.1, IMC 2006. 4. Comment not addressed by the architect. Provide a non-absorbent, non-combustible, cleanable surface (e.g. a sheet of stainless steel) between the hood and the gypsum board behind the hood. Reference: Section 507.9, IMC 2006. |
