| 10/01/2007 | LINDA BUCZYNSKI | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL. PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT Linda.Buczynski@tucsonaz.gov IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. 1. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum of 1/8-inch (all upper case). Reference Section 302.3, Uniform Administrative Code, 1997. 2. Ckt L-2 powers a sign on the lighting plan, but it powers a Menu Board on the panel schedule. Please clarify. 3. Please resubmit IECC calculations. City now enforces the 2006 IECC. 4. Provide cut sheets/specifications for neon lights. 5. It appears that the neon lights should be in the Code L column of the panel schedule, not Code R. 6. Mechanical shall provide electrical requirements for RTUs. Reference Sheet M1. 7. Ckt L1-33 powers Equipment 58, Reach-In Freezer, on the Power. This Ckt powers Equipment 32, Shake Mixer, on the panel schedule. 8. Provide disconnecting means for the Soft Serve Machines and Ice Maker. Reference NEC 422 Part III. 9. The 20A circuit does not accommodate the 30A oven. Reference Equipment 25. 10. It appears that the load calculations should total 333A, not 310A, giving the impression that the service has 34% more excess capacity. Possible sources of error: 18' of track lighting on L1-14 is 1350VA, not 900; 3.5 KW Equipment 19 on L1-34,36 is 1750VA per phase, not 1525; Equipment 30 Menu Board at 15A on L-2 is 1800 VA, not 500; Equipment 18 Scale on L-41 is 600VA not 180; Equipment 37 Ice Maker at 19A on L1-29 has 2280VA, not 1500. 11. Riser Diagram indicates 300A Service by LL. Not Sufficient for an electrical load greater than 300A. 12. If there are other disconnecting means to the service, please provide full one-line diagram and service load calculations. 13. Fault calculations indicate 350 and 1/0. No such conductor size. Is (2) 3/0 from Electrical Room to Sertino's Space. If 75' is the total distance from disconnect to panels, it appears that AFC exceeds 22,000A. Please indicate location of service on scaled drawings, dimensions acceptable. |
| 10/04/2007 | HEATHER THRALL | ZONING | REVIEW | Denied | Zoning was unable to review this project. Provide the last approved site plan for the overall site development - ensuring that plan lists required parking for the development. In addition, provide a tenant list indicating what the current uses are and their square footages, with parking calculations. This information is needed to determine if sufficient parking is provided on the site for this use to be approved. These plans can be walked through at the zoning counter OR can be resubmitted with the above information. |
| 10/10/2007 | ROBERT SHERRY | WATER | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies shall be installed directly after the water meter for buildings that have food service facilities. Show the location, model, and size of the assembly serving this tenant space. Reference COT Ordinance 9976, http://www.tucsonaz.gov/water/docs/backflow-ord.pdf 2. Show the location and size of the water meter serving this tenant space. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. |
| 10/10/2007 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Provide information to show that the flow rates for the lavatories is consistent with ARS Title 45, Chapter 1, Article 12. See text at: (http://www.azleg.state.az.us/ArizonaRevisedStatutes.asp). Reference Section 402.1, UPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 2. The temperature and pressure relief piping shall not terminate into a water heater pan (detail 3/P2). Reference section 508.5, UPC 2006. 3. All storage-type water heaters require a listed expansion tank. Please show expansion tanks on plans. Reference Section 608.3, UPC 2006 with local amendments. 4. Coordinate detail 3/P2 with the plumbing plans. The water heater does not appear to be located above a mop sink. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 5. If the specified water heater is not supplied with integral heat traps, provide heat traps on the supply and discharge piping. Reference Section 504.4, IECC 2006. 6. If the specified water heater is not supplied with integral heat traps, provide 0.5" of insulation with a maximum conductivity of 0.27 btu per inch/h °F on the first 8 feet of supply and discharge piping. Reference Section 504.5, IECC 2006. 7. Appliances to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps may require reduced pressure principle backflow preventers. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference Section 603.0, UPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 8. Provide water pressure and water pipe sizing calculations. If the water supply to this tenant space is shared with other tenant spaces, show how the new water piping relates to the existing water supply system and show that the additional connections do not cause the existing piping (or water meter) to be overloaded. Reference Sections 101.5.1 and 610.1, UPC 2006. 9. Provide upper terminal cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipes exceeding 5 feet in length (horizontal drain lines serving sinks require cleanouts regardless of length). Reference Section 707.4, UPC 2006. 10. Provide a cleanout downstream of the hydrodynamic grease interceptor. Reference Section 707.8, UPC 2006. 11. Provide a direct waste connection for the wash and rinse sections of the 3-compartment sink, with an indirect connection for the sanitizing compartment only. Reference Sections 304.0 and 801.2.3, UPC 2006. 12. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each food-handling fixture. Reference Section 801.2.3, UPC 2006. 13. Provide information to show that the proposed hydromechanical grease interceptor includes an integral flow control device. If not, install a vented, external flow control device per the manufacturer's instructions in a readily accessible location. (Note that with an external flow control device, a floor sink cannot be attached to a hydrodynamic grease separator.) Reference Section 1014.2.1, UPC 2006. 14. Provide a natural gas piping design, including both the new and existing piping and a natural gas schematic showing the sizes, loads and developed lengths of the piping. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. |
| 10/11/2007 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum of 1/8-inch (all upper case). Reference Section 106.1.1, IBC 2006. 2. Provide structural calculations to verify that the existing roof is capable of supporting the additional dead load due to the installation of the new roof top unit. Reference Section 302.1, IMC 2003. 3. Specify the minimum resistance (R-value) of the duct insulation to be used on this project. Reference Section 503.2.7, IECC 2006 4. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drain for the new roof top unit. Reference Section 307.2, IMC 2006 and Section 814.0, UPC 2006. 5.
