Sheet C-3 now shows a backwater valve located downstream of the junction of the grease interceptor discharge and the building sewer, but sheet P-1 now shows a single backwater valve located at the junction of the building drain and the building sewer. This does not protect the grease waste piping from a backflow condition. Reference: Section 103.2.3 UPC 2006. 2. Please note that the City of Tucson is currently following the 2006 UPC. 3. Provide vent piping of sufficient size to comply with section 904.1 2006 UPC. Vents located upstream of pumps, ejectors, backwater valves, or other devices ( e.g. grease interceptors) that obsteruct the free flow of gasses between the building sewer and the outside atmosphere shall not be used for meeting the required cross-sectional vent area. The required vent area shall be at least equal to the cross-sectioal area of the required waste line per Table 7.5 2006 UPC. 4. Show how the floor is to be sloped to the floor drains. Reference 411.4 2006 UPC. 5. Include in the Plumbing Specifications the type of insulation to be used in the water piping systems. 6. Each branch off of the main over five feet in length requires a full size cleanout. Reference: 707.4 2006 UPC.
