| 08/24/2007 | LINDA BUCZYNSKI | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL. PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT Linda.Buczynski@tucsonaz.gov IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. 1. Provide inverter cut sheets and specify inverter model on the plans. Note that if part of the experimental purpose would be to change out various inverter models to view their performance with a certain photovoltaic array configuration, a certain flexibility will be allowed. Please document all acceptable inverter options. 2. Provide photovoltaic panel cut sheets, specifications, shop drawings, as available. Clearly indicate open-circuit voltage, short circuit current, operating current, operating voltage. 3. Provide documentation that the Agreement for Indemnification and Hold Harmless discussed by Jessie Sanders and Frank Kern has been signed, notarized, and recorded. 4. Please note that the City of Tucson not enforces the 2005 National Electrical Code. Reference City of Tucson Applicable Codes, Sheet ETF-1. 5. Provide conductor size and type for the photovoltaic source circuits. 6. Clarify whether each array is 12 panels in series or 2 sets of 6 panels, connected in parallel. The generalistic presentation on the Enlarged Site Plan appears to indicate parallel arrays, and the schematic presentation on the Single Line Diagram appears to indicate that each array consists of 12 panels connected in series. Again, if greater flexibility is needed for the experimental site to function as desired, just document all acceptable options. 7. Specify the connectors between panels. Reference NEC 690.33 (C), (D), and (E). Please provide exact wording pertinent to each of these. 8. Photovoltaic system grounding electrode conductor shall be run continuous from each inverter. Reference NEC 690.47 (B), 250.64 (C), Mounting Elevation Detail. 9. Provide for photovoltaic equipment grounding. Reference NEC 690.43. 10. NEC 690.51, 690.53, and 690.54 are being waived because they are inapplicable to this experimental installation. 11. Provide the placards required by NEC 690.56 (B), at Panel 4B-2, and any other panel or device which will be interconnected with the inverter power. Provide exact wording. Indicate the location(s) of all such panels, switchboards, and/or disconnecting means on the plans. This section would be applicable in the case of a situation where emergency services personnel was called out to the site and had to disconnect all sources of power. 12. Please provide rating of Panel 4B-2, and rating of its overcurrent protective device. Reference NEC 690.64 (B) (2). |
