This letter contains comments which need to be addressed by written responses to each which indicate any actions taken. In order to facilitate a shorter second review, all indicated corrections and revisions to the plans must be made, and two complete new sets of prints, along with one complete redlined set, must be returned to our office. To avoid delays, ensure that all corrections have been made, are complete, and have been coordinated on all applicable detail and note sheets, and that all changes have been highlighted with appropriate revision numbers, revision dates, and “cloud bubbles.” Pen or pencil corrections on final prints are not acceptable. This project has been reviewed for conformance with the 2006 IBC, 2003 IMC, 2003 IECC, 2002 NEC codes with local modifications, and the 2003 UPC with State of Arizona Amendments. A deferred submittal letter for roof trusses will need to be forwarded directly to the Building Official and approved prior to the plans being delivered to the City. Please provide the required high/low drinking fountain per section 1109.5 of the 2006 IBC and section 602 of ANSI 117.1-2003. In addition, please provide protection regarding horizontal projections per section 1003.3.3 of the 2006 IBC and section 307 of ANSI 117.1-2003. Please provide accessible water closets in the men’s and women’s restrooms per section 1109.2 of the 2006 IBC. The current submittal only provides a unisex toilet room while not provide accessible water closets within the men’s and women’s restroom. Please revise the access to the accessible urinal per section 305.7 of ANSI 117.1-2003 as a minimum 36” width is required when the alcove depth is greater than 24”. Please provide protection regarding horizontal projections per section 1003.3.3 of the 2006 IBC and section 307 of ANSI 117.1-2003 for the report counter and contribution boxes. Please revise door #9 to provide the required maneuvering clearance for a front approach on the push side per section 404.2.3 of ANSI 117.1-2003 which requires 12” on the latch side if the door has both a latch and closer. Please provide additional information for the fixtures in the baby care room in order to verify compliance with the applicable sections of ANSI 117.1-2003. The current submittal of the roof framing plan and elevations conflict regarding the storm water removal system (scuppers vs. roof drains). In addition, please provide additional information regarding the storm water removal system in order to verify compliance with chapter 11 of the 2003 UPC (i.e. area served by each drain, drain size, discharge location, secondary drainage system, etc.). Sheet P101 Please provide a waste line for the second lavatory in the men’s and women’s restrooms per section 103.2.3 of the 2003 UPC. Please revise the denoted codes for the system design to the currently adopted codes for the City of Tucson (2003 UPC). Please revise the size of the water meter per the Tucson Water’s requirements as a 1” meter can only supply 25 gpm and coordinate this information throughout the plan set. Please coordinate the sewer connection location between the plumbing and site plans per section 103.2.3 of the 2003 UPC. If the plumbing plans represent the desired location, please verify that the owner wants the denoted two-way cleanout near the main entrance. Please provide a cleanout for the urinal per section 707.4 of the 2003 UPC. Please provide a floor drain in the men’s and women’s restrooms per section 412.2 of the 2003 UPC. MECHANICAL COMMENTS: Sheet M101 Please revise the denoted energy conservation code to the one adopted by the City of Tucson (2006 IECC).
