The second review for the above project has been completed. This letter contains comments which need to be addressed by written responses to each which indicate any actions taken. In order to facilitate a shorter third review, all corrections and revisions must be made on the original plans and two complete new sets of prints, along with one complete redlined set, must be returned to our office. To avoid delays, ensure that all corrections have been made, are complete, and have been coordinated on all applicable detail and note sheets, and that all changes have been highlighted with appropriate revision numbers, revision dates, and “cloud bubbles.” Pen or pencil corrections on final prints are not acceptable.

This project has been reviewed for conformance with the 2006 IRC, 1997 UAC, and the 2006 UPC. Any revisions to this plan will require an additional review and approval by Willdan.

Keynote #16 indicates that bottled water is to be provided in lieu of a drinking fountain. An appeal to the City Building Official shall be required to allow this proposal. Provide a copy of the approved appeal or provide the required drinking fountain. IBC, Table 2902.1. Comment Remains: Appeal was not provided.

Sheet A3
Please provide cut-sheets for the wall sconces each side of the front entry and coordinate with Sheet E2 for compliance with the Tucson Outdoor lighting Code. Comment Remains: The cut sheets provided do not coordinate with the calculations provided. Two different fixtures are specified. Please provide the cut sheets for the two fixtures specified.

Sheet A4
Clarify the minimum required dimension of the canale opening for roof drainage. IBC, Section 1503.4 and 2006 IPC, Section 1106.3 and Table 1106.3. Comment Remains: The IPC is specified; therefore an appeal from the City of Tucson, with a signature of approval, is required. Also, The table being specified on the schedule does not exist. Please revise to Table 1106.3.

Since there are parapets extending above the roof, secondary roof drainage is required. IPC, Section 1107.1. Please resolve the secondary roof drains and revise the plans as necessary. Comment Remains: Please provide an appeal for the use of the IPC with a signature of approval.

Please correct the code editions of the IMC and IPC to the 2006 editions and verify that all changes from the 2003 editions have been incorporated into the plans for these systems. Comment Remains: The IPC has been specified and an appeal needs to be provided; yet on the codes section the 2006 UPC is specified. Only one code can be used. If the 2006 UPC is used please change all notes, references, and tables to reflect as such. Or, provide an approved appeal from the City of Tucson Building Official and make all the appropriate changes for the 2006 IPC.
