This letter reflects comments to be addressed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide revised plans and calculations, highlighting any changes, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. SCOPE OF REVIEW: The scope of this plan review covers architectural, plumbing, mechanical, energy conservation and electrical. All code references are to the 2006 International Residential Code, 2006 International Energy Conservation Code, and Arizona State amendments to the 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. All engineers and architects involved in the design of the structure are to seal the related sheets of plans, details and calculations in accordance with the rules of the State Board of Technical Registration. I. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: · Provide two copies of the corrected set of drawings (no clouds or revision numbers please) along with a set of the first submission (cloud corrections on this set please). All corrections and revisions shall be made on original tracings or finished reproducible set. Pen or pencil corrections on final prints will not be acceptable. To avoid delays, ensure that all corrections have been made, are complete, and have been coordinated on all applicable detail and note sheets. · Note: Please do not cloud plans submitted for review. A plan can not be 'revised' until a permit has been issued. · As of June 13, 2007 the City of Tucson has adopted the 2006 IRC with the exception of the plumbing portion which has been replaced with the 2006 UPC with amendments. The plans should reference these codes, or appeal to the Building Official for 2003-design approval. · Note: Our records indicate this plan was submitted for review on July 24th, 2007. Please update all code year references to comply with 2006 IRC or appeal to the Building Official. II. STRUCTURAL PLAN: · Provide separate attic space calculations for each section of attic, or provide sufficient ventilation between sections, R806.2. · Note: The two attic vents over the carport area can not assist the ventilation of the main house due to a solid masonry wall at the new Mud Room separating the attic spaces. III. SECTIONS - DETAILS: · Provide a detail for the beam seat above the front porch windows in the existing masonry wall. · Note: Please justify the structural integrity of the existing lintel to support the new point load over the window. IV. MECHANICAL PLAN: · Show supply and return ducts outside the building thermal envelope with minimum R-8 insulation, R1103.2.1. · Note: Please correct duct insulation requirements to reflect the 2006 IRC code change.
