01/10/2008 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | The structural calculations and details show that the Type I hood, KH-2, is supported from combustible supports (4"x4" blocking). If the exception to allow the required 18" clearance to be eliminated is desired, revise the design to eliminate all combustible supports in accordance with Section 507.9, IMC 2003. |
01/10/2008 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | Provide cleanouts downstream of both the grease interceptor and the backwater valve. Reference Sections 707.4 and 707.8, UPC 2003. |

01/17/2008 | LINDA BUCZYNSKI | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL. PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT Linda.Buczynski@tucsonaz.gov IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. 1. Emergency lighting appears to violate NEC 700.12 (F), which requires such equipment to be fed from the same branch circuits as feed normal lighting in the respective area. THIS COMMENT WAS MADE ON THE PREVIOUS SUBMITTALS. WE MAY HAVE DISCUSSED THIS AS WELL, BUT AS THE CODE READS: "THE BRANCH CIRCUIT FEEDING THE UNIT EQUIPMENT SHALL BE THE SAME BRANCH CIRCUIT AS THAT SERVING THE NORMAL LIGHTING IN THE AREA AND CONNECTED AHEAD OF ANY LOCAL SWITCHES." THE EXCEPTION DOES NOT APPEAR TO APPLY. FROM THE ELECTRICAL LIGHTING PLAN THERE APPEAR TO BE AT LEAST TWO UNINTERRUPTED AREAS WITH EMERGENCY LIGHTING. EMERGENCY LIGHTING NEEDS TO BE RELOCATED TO THE CIRCUITS SERVING THESE AREAS. 2. Main distribution panelboard appears to be referenced as Panel A on the Electrical One-Line Diagram, and as Panel DP on the panel schedule. Please clarify. 3. Panel L3 is 60A MLO according to the panel schedule, which is not protected by the 100A breaker on Panel DP; neither is the #6 feeder. 4. Panel K is 400A MLO according to the panel schedule, which is too large for the 60A circuit originating from Panel DP. |
