| 08/07/2007 | LEERAY HANLY | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1) Provide partition bracing for detail 19/A6. Suspended ceiling grid is not suitable for lateral support. (previous correction note 2) 2) Provide detail on pp A6 or keynote on pp A3 for installation of new hard lids. (previous correction notes 2,6). 3) Is it your intention that entrance to the accessible restrooms will be by entering the "foyer" of meeting room 4? If so then indicate locations of accessible signage in corridor 120 outside of the meeting room. Ref new partition detail on pp A1. (previous correction note 3) 4) New comment: Please show catwalk in attic and mechanical equipment support to roof rafters as discussed with Architect of record. |
| 08/15/2007 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Specify the backflow devices to be used with the appliances (e.g. ovens, ice makers, espresso machines, etc) that will be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Table 6-3, UPC 2003. Reference Sections 602.3, 603.0, and Table 6-2, UPC 2003. |
| 08/15/2007 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. The architect has not justified support of the fan coils from the ceiling joists. Show how the hangers for the new fan coil units are being attached to the building structure and verify that the existing structure is capable of supporting the additional dead load. Reference Section 302.1, IMC 2003. 2. The revised drawings do not show how the condensate overflow piping connects to the fan coils. Provide auxiliary drain pans or secondary drain systems for fan coil units. Reference Section 307.2.3 IMC 2003. 3. Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation. If using the ASHRAE 62.1 calculation method, see section 6.2.5 for determining the required ventilation airflow for multiple-zone systems. Reference Section 401.2, IMC 2003. 4. A successful appeal to the building official will be required before the mechanical drawings can be approved. Provide an approved commercial kitchen hood over all commercial cooking or heat-producing appliances. Reference Sections 507.1 and 507.2, IMC 2003. |
| 08/21/2007 | LINDA BUCZYNSKI | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL. PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT Linda.Buczynski@tucsonaz.gov IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. 1. It appears that the totals for Phases A, B, and C on Panel M are 31558, 30323, and 29452 VA, respectively, not 28601, 26775, and 29452. This effects the final amperage on the panel, and hence the amount of spare capacity. Outdoor fan units with the HPs were added to obtain the above total, as was a corrected load for Circuit A-16 and Phase C on Panel A. Note that this effects service load calculations, but proportionally that error is nominally small. Electrical Engineer may or may elect to carry through such corrections. 2. Load on EB-1, EB-3, EB-5, and EB-7, for the purpose of panel and feeder totals, appear to be 1140, 2400, 1800, and 1800VA, respectively, not 720, 1200, 900, and 900. Panel appears to total 170.7A, not 132.9. 3. Please eliminate the redundant GND on the line side of Panel M. 4. Lighting does not correspond to that indicated on the Reflected Ceiling Plan. Reference Sheet A3. 5. Provide an electrical circuit for the GFI receptacle in the bagelry. 6. From the load information given for the Convectional Oven, it would draw 25.5A. Overcurrent protection shall be sized at 40A, not 60A. Reference NEC 422.11 (E) (3). 7. Certain loads on Sheet E2 are Powered from Panel A1. There is no panel schedule for Panel A1. 8. Panel EB appears to have 35,510VA, not 31,884. This is because loads on Ckts 1,3,5, and 7 are 1140, 2400, 1800 and 1800VA, respectively, at least from the standpoint of feeder calculation. (35510) (208) = 170.7A, as this is a single phase, line-to-line panel. 9. Please provide available fault current at Panel EB. |
