Sheets D1 and A1 appear to indicate the addition of a urinal in room 166 and additional lavatories in rooms 107, 114 and 115. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 2003. 2. Show how the new water piping relates to the existing water supply system and show that the additional connections do not cause the existing piping to be overloaded. Reference Section 101.5.1, UPC 2003. 3. Appliances (e.g. ovens, ice makers, espresso machines, etc) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Table 6-3, UPC 2003 require backflow prevention. Reference Sections 602.3, 603.0, and Table 6-2, UPC 2003. 4. Provide specifications for the appliances provided by the owner (e.g. the post-mix section, the icemaker). Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 2003. 5. The plumbing fixture schedule calls out a Sloan Royal model 136-1 for the urinal, P-3. That model valve is for a water closet and uses at least 1.6 GPF. Reference Section 402.1, UPC 2003, as amended by the State of Arizona. (ARS Title 45, Chapter 1, Article 12) |

| 07/03/2007 | LINDA BUCZYNSKI | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL. PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT Linda.Buczynski@tucsonaz.gov IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. 1. It appears that the totals for Phases A, B, and C on Panel M are 32955, 30815, and 30395 VA, respectively, not 27655, 26585, and 26645. This effects the final amperage on the panel, and hence the amount of spare capacity. Also, it is not clear that the outdoor fan units with the HPs were added to the loads. For more corrected totals, please note that Phase C of Panel M1 is 4650, not 4290 (the receptacle load on Ckt 23 was overlooked). And Ckt 16 on Panel B1 appears to have 1596 VA, not 504, which carries through to the total on Phase B on that Panel and on Panel M. 2. Each conduit comprising the feeder to Panel M shall have a #3, minimum, GND. 3. Please eliminate the redundant GND on the line side of Panel M. 4. Show the location of Panel A1 on the plans. Note that there is a Panel A on the plans, without panel schedule. 5. Since Panel EB is to be new, show its panel schedule and electrical loads. 6. Lighting does not correspond to that indicated on the Reflected Ceiling Plan. Reference Sheet A3. 7. Electrical Power and Lighting indicate that the work for the Einstein Bagelry are to be done by others, on a separate permit. However, a set of unsealed drawings for the bagelry are included in this submittal. No indication that these plans are just for reference. Please clarify. 8. It appears that the Load Calculations only reflect the new loads. Provide service load calculations, total. 9. Please note that the following question has been forwarded to TEP: "A set of plans at 1601 N Oracle Road, Building 9, is currently under review. The Engineer is citing 75,100A of Available Fault Current for a 2000A, 208V service originating at a bank of pole-mounted TEP transformers. This appears abberant, because SR-510 does not list a value for Available Fault Current at a 2000A service from a pole-mounted transformer. And the value published for a 1600A, 208V service from a pole-mounted transformer 77,400A, clearly larger than 75,100. Should I have the Engineer revisit his values, or is this site somehow unique?" |
