1. Plans shall be prepared and sealed by a Registrant in the State of Arizona. This applies to any Commercial building over 3000 SF or with occupancy over 20. Will not perform a complete review until this is done, but please see the general comments below.

2. Please remove references to the IRC. As an R4 Adult Care occupancy group plans and submittals should be prepared using the International Building Code.

3. Provide a complete code analysis including building type, type of constructin, occupancy type and occupant load.

4. You must provide a complete structural engineering analysis for the new addition including any reactions imposed on the existing building.

5. You must provide complete structural details per the engineering analysis.

6. Provide all shop drawings for engineered trusses and joists showing compliance with the engineering analysis. Any deferred submittals must be pre-approved by the building official.

7. You must provide details showing compliance with the IBC chapter 11 accessibility requirements and the 2003 ANSI 117.1 accessibility standards. Details must show complete route from street into building, within the common areas of the building, and withing the accessible units.

2. If the new service or any feeder exceeds 400A, such plans shall be prepared by a Registered Electrical Engineer.
3. In reference to the Code Edition listed on Sheet S-1, there is no NEC 2006. The City of Tucson DSD currently enforces NEC 2002 and its local amendments. NEC 2005 would also be acceptable.
4. Remove all references to the IRC on the electrical drawings. Not applicable to commercial projects.
5. Demonstrate compliance with the 2003 IECC.
6. All exterior lighting shall comply with the Tucson Lighting Code.
06/05/2007 DAVE MANN FIRE REVIEW Denied 1) Az. State Board of Technical Registration states the occupant load of this building dictates an architect's stamp on the plans.
2) Please include code review data, including occupancy classification, occupant load, applicabe codes and standards, etc.
3) Buiding will require fire sprinklers.
Please add the following automatic sprinkler criteria to the plans:

1. The hazard classification of the occupancy including any special hazards.
2. The design standard to be used.
3. The availability and adequacy of the water supply.
4. The design density and the area of operation.

2. The 2003 International Mechanical Code with Local Amendments is the relevant mechanical code for this project. Either the 2003 International Fuel Gas Code or the 2003 Uniform Plumbing Code shall be used for the installation of the gas-fired appliances and the design of the combustion air supply for the appliances.
3. Provide energy code compliance calculations. Reference Section 101.4, International Energy Conservation Code 2003.
4. Provide supporting documentation for the assembly U-factors for the windows, walls, and the roof along with the SHGC for the windows. Reference Section 104.2, IECC 2003.
5. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation. Reference Section 104.2, IECC 2003.
6. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains. Reference Section 307.2, IMC 2003 and Section 807.2, UPC 2003.
7. Recirculation of ventilation air from toilet rooms is prohibited. Reference Section 403.2.1 (3), IMC 2003.
8. Provide listing information for the specified flexible air duct and show that the design and installation comply with the manufacturer's recommendations. Provide information to show how the ductwork has been sized. Reference Sections 304.1, 603.2, and 603.6.1, IMC 2003.
9. Show the proposed locations for the condensing units. Show that the equipment is being installed in accordance with the conditions of its listing and the manufacturer's installation requirements. Reference Section 304.1, IMC 2003.
