| 02/28/2008 | LOREN MAKUS | ENGINEERING | REVIEW | Approved | February 28, 2008 T07BU02609 Grading Plan Review Loren Makus, EIT Grading Plan Comments: 1. As previously commented: provide details of the water harvesting basins and representative proposed spot elevations to demonstrate that the basins will be approximately level and maximize ponding. Although the plan specifies that the water harvesting basins will have flat bottoms, the spot grades near the basins indicate that the basin bottoms will be nearly 2.5 feet below the adjacent ground in some areas. Provide sufficient specific details for each microbasin area to show how the basin will be constructed safely and clearly address the slope surface treatment for these areas. 2. Provide representative cross sections across the project area, showing grades and surface details. Provide sections on each axis. 3. Microbasin B is show immediately adjacent to the proposed structure. Provide a geotechnical engineering report addressing the effect of the water harvesting area on the soil and foundation of the structure. 4. Show paved access with sufficient maneuverability for the dumpster enclosure. Is a dumpster enclosure appropriate for a residential development? 5. Clearly identify the grading limits for the project. 6. Provide a clear description of the proposed new fence and gates. Provide specifications and details including length, height and material. SWPPP comments 7. The SWPPP clearly indicates that this project is for the construction of a museum. The grading plan indicates that it is for a residence. The plans must be consistent. |
