2. In title block, add assigned I-Plan Number, I-2006-097 to all sheets.

3. Submit a copy of the approved documentation: Geotechnical Report. A Geotechnical Report is required for submittals and must include pavement section and reference soil recommendation for public roads.

4. Indicate the Administrative address.

5. Add note to General or Paving Notes: Asphaltic Concrete shall conform to PC/COT SSPI Section 406, Mix #2 Specification.

6. Add note to General or Paving Notes: Pavement Section Design documentation, are in accordance to the approved Geotechnical Report, Report Name, Firm Name and date.

7. Add note to General or Paving Notes: Engineer of Record must provide written documentation that all utilities within the right of way have been cleared for construction.

8. Add note to General or Paving Notes: The City shall not be held liable for any errors and/or omissions on these plans. Items not meeting City Standards shall be repaired/replaced at no cost to the City.

9. Add note to General or Paving Notes: The Engineer of Record shall submit to the City for acceptance any changes to the approved plans prior to construction. Additionally, the Engineer of Record shall certify all changes meeting all applicable standards, codes, and ordinances.

Correct General Note 2 to read: Contractor shall call Blue Stake as mandated by the Arizona Revised Statutes at 1-800-782-5348 before any construction begins to verify location of existing public utilities shown or not shown. Existing utility locations shown hereon are only approximate. It is the contractor's responsibility to confirm horizontal and vertical location of all utilities without damaging same. Damaged utilities shall be repaired at the contractor's expense.

17. Engineer of Record must provide written documentation that all utilities within the right of way have been cleared for construction.

18. Indicate all recordation information such as easements, dedications, right-of-way. Existing pedestrian and utility easements should be shown on plan view with labels as to being public or private with docket/page or plat book/page.

19. Indicate a road profile to include Left, Center, Right, and the EOP of striped paved roadways. A road profile is needed for pavement widening projects (Deceleration/Acceleration lanes).

20. Pedestrian areas/shoulders along side of strip paved streets should be a minimum of 8 feet wide, slope @ 2% and be separate to drainage ditches/channels.


21. Concrete headers are required along asphalt radius returns when residential streets intersect with arterial and collectors streets without curbs. Indicate if vertical curb or concrete header is to be used. Terminal Section will be required for vertical curb. Indicate a dimensioned detail.

22. Thickened pavement edge is required if concrete curb or header is not being installed. Minimum width of installed pavement has to be 2 feet in order to install thickened edge. Usually, this comes at the end of pavement tapers where they match back to the existing pavement edge.

23. Differing structural pavement sections on plan shall be specific to each street affected. Include a dimensioned pavement structural section for each. Indicate Mix # / Effective air voids (Per SSPI), 5.5% MSR, 4.0% Local.

24. Indicate a dimensioned detail for the Thickened Edge area.

25. Indicate a dimensioned detail for the Sawcut, Trim, Tack & Join area. 2-foot saw-cut area into existing pavement.

26. A Floodplain Use Permit from Pima County is required for development in the right-of-way.

Resubmittal Required: Traffic Engineering does not recommend approval of the PIA Plan; therefore a revised PIA Plan and Traffic redlines are required for re-submittal.

The following items must be revised or added to the plan.

1. Include a response letter with the next submittal that states how all comments have been addressed.

2. Place the PIA Case number (T06PI00065) on the cover sheet.

3. Provide a 'RIGHT LANE' (R3-5F) supplemental plaque under the new (R3-5R) along Silverbell Road.

4. See redlines on the submitted drawings and address the additional redline comments. During the next submittal please re-submit the roll of redlines for back checking purposes.

5. Add the following Pavement Marking/Striping General Notes to the Plans:

'ALL STREET STRIPING & SIGNAGE TO BE COORDINATED WITH C.O.T. TRAFFIC ENGINEERING CALL 791-4259 A MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION OR REMOVAL OF ANY SIGNAGE OR STRIPING. ALL REQUIRED STRIPING AND SIGNAGE WILL BE INSTALLED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE. NEW STRIPING TO BE THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL. USE 2" SQUARE-TUBE POST AND SQUARE TUBE POST FOUNDATIONS FOR SIGNING. BARRICADE PLAN MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE CITY OF TUCSON TRAFFIC ENGINEERING FOR APPROVAL 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF ANY WORK IN PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY.'
