RESUBMITTAL REQUIRED: Permits and Codes Section has reviewed the PIA Plan and does not recommend approval of the PIA Plan at this time. The following comments need to be addressed in the next submittal.

1. Include the plan number "I-2006-066" in title blocks.

2. Incorporate Golf Links Road and Swan Road in Title.

3. If a flood plain use permit was issued for this project please include FUP# in general notes. "Floodplain Use Permit No._______, has been issued by Development Services Department for work impacting City and/or FEMA Floodplains."

4. Remove signature lines "COT Street Maintenance" and "COT Traffic Engineering" from cover sheet.

5. Provide standard stationing with left and right station offsets from roadway centerline for the proposed and existing improvements.

6. Number sheets as 1 of 13, 2 of 13, Etc.

7. Darken lines for proposed structures/improvements and show existing with dashed lines (remove screening), see PC/COT Std. Dtl. 100. Additionally, provide a line legend.

8. Indicate the limits of the proposed placement of new curb.

9. Material testing shall be in accordance the requirements of the applicable test methods of the ADOT Material Testing Manual. Revise detail F/C-501 to reflect this.

10. All storm sewer pipe to be placed in the right-of-way must be reinforced concrete pipe (RCP).

11. Add the following General and Paving Notes in plan set:

¨ All construction activity and test methods shall be in conformance with Pima County/City of Tucson Standard Specifications for Public Improvements (PC/COT SSPI) 2003 Edition.

¨ Aggregate Base Course shall conform to PC/COT SSPI Section 303.

¨ Asphaltic Concrete shall conform to PC/COT SSPI Section 406.

¨ All concrete shall conform to PC/COT SSPI Section 1006, Class S, 3,000 PSI compressive strength at 28 days, unless otherwise specified.

¨ Upon commencement of work, traffic control devices shall be posted and maintained by the contractor until such time as the work is completed. All warning signs, barricades etc. shall be in accordance with the manual on uniform traffic control devices adopted by the State of Arizona pursuant to A.R.S. 28-065. Contact Traffic Engineering, 791-4259, 48-hours prior to placing or removing any said traffic control devices.

¨ Engineer of Record must provide written documentation that all utilities within the right of way have been cleared for construction.

¨ The City shall not be held liable for any errors and/or omissions on these plans. Items not meeting City Standards shall be repaired/replaced at no cost to the City.

¨ The Engineer of Record shall submit to the City for acceptance any changes to the approved plans prior to construction. Additionally, the Engineer of Record shall certify all changes meeting all applicable standards, codes, and ordinances.

¨ An excavation permit shall be obtained from the City of Tucson Transportation Department prior to any work within the Public right-of-way.

¨ A pre-construction field meeting shall be conducted with the City of Tucson Transportation inspector prior to any work within the public right-of-way.

¨ The extent and type of surface treatments/repairs indicated on the plans may not be all inclusive of the work that is needed. Additional repairs, paving, or replacement may be needed depending on field conditions.

¨ The contractor shall contact and/or coordinate any work with COT Streets & Traffic Maintenance Division, Median Island Maintenance Section (791-5279, ext. 234) prior to disturbing any COT/DOT landscaping or irrigation systems. Additionally, the contractor shall repair or replace any disturbed COT/DOT landscaping or irrigation systems, including replacement of any damaged plants.

¨ Contractor shall obtain all permits required by governmental agencies.

¨ A copy of the approved plan shall be kept in an easily accessible location on the site at all times during construction.

¨ The contractor shall comply with all applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.

12. Provide a profile of the existing pavement and the proposed top of curb and gutter.

13. Place signage and striping on a separate sheet.

14. Remove contour line for plan views.

15. A barrier free pedestrian path must be provided along the roadway shoulder in the form of a sidewalk or a compacted graded shoulder. Additionally, sidewalk scuppers will have to be provided at drainage crossings.

16. Call out PC/COT Std. Dtl. for the proposed post barricades and Curb? in the Golf Links Road driveway.

17. The proposed pipe culvert across the Golf Links Road driveway must be reinforced concrete pipe with headwalls. Submit a revised hydraulic analysis supporting this structure.

Resubmittal Required: Traffic Engineering does not recommend approval of the PIA Plan; therefore a revised PIA Plan is required for re-submittal.

The following items must be revised or added to the plan.

1. Include a response letter with the next submittal that states how all comments have been addressed.

2. Provide symbols used for new street signs into the legend.

3. Station and offset all new locations of the relocated signs and proposed signs.

4. Sheet C-101: Dimension the offset between the 8' pavement arrows along Golf Links Road.

5. Sheet C-101: Relocate the 'THRU TRAFFIC MERGE LEFT' sign to the eastside of the proposed driveway.

6. Sheet C-101: Provide a 'RIGHT LANE' (R3-5F) supplemental plaque under the new (R3-5R) along Golf Links Road.

7. Sheet C-102: The proposed location of the 'STOP SIGN' (R1-1) should be placed prior to potential pedestrian crossings (i.e. access ramps). Follow the PCDOT & TDOT Signing Manual (2002) Chap 9-5C for clarification.

8. Sheet C-102: Provide a 'RIGHTONLY' (R3-5R) under the proposed (R1-1).

9. Sheet C-102: Place a 'ONE WAY' (R6-1) sign in the median per PCDOT & TDOT Signing Manual (2002) Chap 9-3

10. Sheet C-102: Re-stripe the median end/gore transition per PCDOT & TDOT Pavement Marking Design Manual (2002) Chapter 5-13.

11. Sheet C-102: The proposed striping approaching and departing the median on the north side of the median should be YDS4-D40/D40, and striping around the median should be YS4.

12. Sheet C-102: The proposed solid striping in the southbound direction of the proposed driveway just north of the activated readers calls out for YDS4. This striping should be white and not yellow, please revise the callout.

13. Sheet C-103: Show existing striping to confirm that proposed striping is tying into existing striping.

14. Add the following General Notes per PCDOT & TDOT Pavement Marking Design Manual Chapter 2-1 Notes: 1,2,9-13,16 & 17

15. Add the following Signing General Notes 1, 5(a), 5(b), & 7 per PCDOT & TDOT Signing Manual (2002) (Chapter 1, Sheet 12) to the Plans.

16. Add the following Pavement Marking/Striping General Notes to the Plans:

'ALL STREET STRIPING & SIGNAGE TO BE COORDINATED WITH C.O.T. TRAFFIC ENGINEERING CALL 791-4259 A MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION OR REMOVAL OF ANY SIGNAGE OR STRIPING. ALL REQUIRED STRIPING AND SIGNAGE WILL BE INSTALLED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE. NEW STRIPING TO BE THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL. USE 2" SQUARE-TUBE POST AND SQUARE TUBE POST FOUNDATIONS FOR SIGNING. BARRICADE PLAN MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE CITY OF TUCSON TRAFFIC ENGINEERING FOR APPROVAL 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF ANY WORK IN PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY.'

08/17/2006 GARY WITTWER DOT LANDSCAPE REVIEW Denied 1. There is no plant key. Are the numbered plants trees to be transplanted? Please add a typical plant key - sysmbol, botanical name, size etc.

2. Please add Decomposed Granite notes, detail and limits to match existing. This should include preparation of subgrade to a smooth surface and removal of weeds and debris.

3. The irrigation note needs additional clarification. "The existing City of Tucson irrigation system shall be repaired per TDOT standards and the original plans. (line types/class or sch. and, approx. locations must match existing) See plans and details on pages 91, 108A and 108C of plan No. L-87-01 at TDOT Maps and Records. The spray head valves and lines do not need to be replaced. Coordinate all work with Paul Rosenboom 791-5279 ext. 123. Contact Paul for a pre-construction meeting.
