04/17/2006 | GARY WITTWER | DOT LANDSCAPE | REVIEW | Denied | 1. How is (or where is) pedestrian traffic handled along Via Rio Pico. (Planting is too close to roadway) Sheet L2. 2. Grade Lines on sheet L2 - left center, do not make sense. Is there a wall here?- if so - it should be shown. Contours run into thin air. 3. Civil cross-references should call out with a page and detail #. 4. Irrigation - There is no such thing as a 3/4" water meter - it is either a 5/8" or 1". I'm guessing that Parks would rather have a 1" meter. 5. There is a note on sheet L-1 Note #1. under Maintenance 3.7.6 (who is the owner?) Please change this to "City of Tucson, Parks Department". 6. This project should have stationing and geometry to lay out the bike path. (Need curve data and grades) 7. Parks may want you to remove Detail 2 on sheet L19. This deatil is for reclaim systems. If it is a reclaim system - please remove the backflow units. 8. Please check the Rainbird emitter model number. I think you want to call out "XBT" as your detail is showing it to be on a threaded riser. 9. Why no water harvesting? Note. All of these notes apply to Phase One. |
05/08/2006 | LANCE PETERSON | DOT STREET MAINTENANCE | REVIEW | Denied | We have reviewed these plans and have the following comments: 1. Please use Senninger preset regulators. 2. Please use manufacture specified wires for the flow meters. 3. Use dirty water brass buckner valves on the calsense controller. 4. Use plastic dirty water rainbird valves on Liet controllers. 5. Winterize backflow. 6. Use new Leit controller and remote. - Leit XRC Controller - Remote Leit link multi-pro - Lema 1600HE solenoid - Stainless steel encloser 7. Use ball valves instead of gate valves. 8. Use schedule 80 unions on all valves, regulators, and filters. 9. Who will be responcible for the maintenance of these improvements? No furter comments. 5/8/06 |
05/10/2006 | Estevan Tineo | DOT ENGINEERING | REVIEW | Denied | Per the PIA contract and the PIA precon, revisions to the previously approved PIA Plan (Las Estancia Channel realignment I-2001-026) must be submitted to DOT Permits and Codes for review and acceptance prior to construction (the revisions were installed without DOT approval). If the revisions are approved then they must be as-built on the previously approved PIA plan. I have the following comments for the proposed revisions to the previously approved and active PIA plan, I-2001-026: 1. The proposed pedestrian dip-sections must provide barrier free access for the 10-year event. In addition the crosssings must provide ADA access. 2. The proposed gabion modifications, proposed bridge crossings, (actually the unapproved mods) must be documented on the proposed PIA revisions. 3. The proposed steel and wood pedestrian bridges must be certified and stamped by an Arizona Registered Structural Engineer, In addition the bridges will have to be inspected and Certified by an Arizona Registered Structural Engineer. 4. Approval must be obtained from DOT Streets and Traffic Maintenance for the proposed wood and steel bridges. T06PI00017: The proposed pedestrian path and landscaping must be placed on DOT PIA plan Engineering Format. Also the plan must contain the following note: "Pedestrian Path and Landscaping not to be maintained by DOT Streets and Traffic Maintenance". In addition the plan must include signature lines for City and County Parks and Rec. The plan must include Plan and profile views for the proposed pedestrian path and comply with Federal ADA access requirements. |
