| 10/15/2007 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Show how the Eemax 2412 instantaneous water heater is able to limit the hot water temperature at the lavatory per Section 414.1, UPC 2003 and Section 804.3, IECC 2003. The Specified faucet (Symmons S-60-G) requires the supply water to be at design temperature levels prior to setting the temperature limit stop for the maximum delivery temperature. The delivery temperature of water in Tucson ranges from 66.5 to 90.6 degrees Fahrenheit; with the Eemax SP2412 tankless water heater, the delivery temperature can then range from 99.5 to 123.5 degrees Fahrenheit. Limiting the delivery temperature to 110 degrees Fahrenheit with the specified faucet will require that faucet be set to allow a maximum temperature increase of 19.4 degrees Fahrenheit, for a maximum hot water delivery temperature of 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Provide a note on the plans to guide the contractor. Reference: http://www.ci.tucson.az.us/tucsonwater/clearwater?output=allTabular |
| 10/15/2007 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Third request. The energy calculations indicate only one wall type but the drawings show three types. The calculations show only one window type but the drawings show multiple fenestration types with the existing windows, new windows, and the glass blocks; nothing on the drawings indicates the characteristics of the different types of fenestration. The calculations call for R-30 insulation for the roof but no insulation is noted on the plans. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation. Reference Section 104.2, IECC 2003. |
| 10/16/2007 | RONALD BROWN | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. NEED WRITTEN RESPONSE FOR THE TWO BUILDING COMMENTS OF PLAN REVIEW DATED 07/12/2007. 2. TABLE 602 REQUIRES EXT WALL WITHIN 10' TO BE RATED; TABLE 704.8 PROVIDES FOR LIMITIONS OF FENESTRATION OPENINGS. CLEARIFY JUSTIFICATION OF CODE COMPLIANCE IN WRITING INCLUDING CALCULATIONS. |
| 10/18/2007 | GERRY KOZIOL | WWM | REVIEW | Denied | NEEDS 8TH FLOOR CREDIT EVALUATION |
| 10/24/2007 | RAY MAJUTA | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | ELECTRICAL NOTES; ITEMS 1 AND 2 OF LAST REVIEW STILL REQUIRE CLARIFICATION. YOUR WIRING OF HP-1 AND FC-1 SHOW A 60 AMP CIRCUIT FEEDING A 30 AMP DISCONNECT AT FC-1 THEN JUMPING TO A 60 AMP DISCONNECT AT HP-1. THESE UNITS REQUIRE INDIVIDUAL CIRCUITS, IF USING ONLY ONE CIRCUIT PROVIDE INFORMATION FOR ONE FEED SITUATION. |
