5. The fixture connection sizes called out for the flush valve for the urinal (water closet also?) will result in water velocities greater than 8 FPS. Limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for the copper piping. Reference Section A 6.1, UPC 2003 and IAPMO IS 3-2000, Section 610.0.
6. General plumbing note #5 indicates that PEX is an allowable material for the water distribution system. If so, provide sizing criteria for PEX, in addition to that provided for copper, that is in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and with velocities not exceeding 8 feet per second. Reference Section 610.1, UPC 2003.
7. Provide protection of the trap seal for the floor drain. Reference Sections 1007.0 and 1007.1, UPC 2003, as amended by the City of Tucson.
