04/05/2007 | DAVID RIVERA | ZONING | REVIEW | Denied | TO: Development Services Department Plans Coordination Office FROM: David Rivera Principal Planner PROJECT: T06CM06275 945 E. Ohio Street Site plan review, re-stripe and all new HC access 3rd Review TRANSMITTAL DATE: April 05, 2007 COMMENTS: Please contact me at 837-4952 or Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov or at 837-4951 for an over the counter review of these minor corrections. 1. It appears that the loading zones meet the minimum width and length. please add the dimensions as requested per the previous comment. Previous Comment: Per DS 2-02.2.1.14, dimension loading zones. 2. The site must be provided with five disabled parking spaces. According to the infor on sheet A1.4 under the Gross Site Area, 5 disabled parking spaces are provided. Four spaces have been drawn and labeled on the plan. Please add the fifth disabled parking space. It is further suggested that the fifth disabled parking space be added next to the space adjacent to the south side of the building. My suggestion is to add the access aisle in the same location where the sidewalk is proposed and add the fifth disabled access aisle see redline, sheet A1.4. Previous Comment: A handicapped access aisle near the vehicle bays does not appear to have a detail. Please provide notes with slopes, truncated domes, and curbing if applicable. 3. I or Heather are willing to meet with you over the counter to review the changes and approve the plan over the counter assuming all the changes are made. Please email me or call us to schedule a counter appointment. Truncatred domes must be depicted and labled for the following two locations. The access aisle for the disabled parking space along the west side of the site and at the access aisle along the south side of the building. See redlines. If you have any questions about this transmittal, please call 837-4957 or Heather at 837-4951. HCT C:\planning\site\DSD\T06CM06275 945 E. Ohio 2.doc THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED: Revised site plan |
04/06/2007 | WILLDAN | ADA | REVIEW | Denied | April 17, 2007 City of Tucson Development Services P.O. Box 27210 Tucson, AZ 85726 RE: City of Tucson Storage Facility CITY OF TUCSON LOG NO. T06CM06275 WILLDAN PROJECT NO. 13881-7000 – 3rd REVIEW The third review for the above project has been completed. This letter contains comments which need to be addressed by written responses to each which indicate any actions taken. In order to facilitate a shorter fourth review, all corrections and revisions must be made on the original plans and two complete new sets of prints, along with one complete redlined set, must be returned to our office. To avoid delays, ensure that all corrections have been made, are complete, and have been coordinated on all applicable detail and note sheets, and that all changes have been highlighted with appropriate revision numbers, revision dates, and “cloud bubbles.” Pen or pencil corrections on final prints are not acceptable. This project has been reviewed for conformance with the 2003 IBC, 1997 UAC, 2003 IMC, 2003 IECC, 2002 NEC, and the 2003 UPC. Any revisions to this plan will require an additional review and approval by Willdan. Should you have questions regarding the comments herein, please contact your plans examiner Jim Singleton. Also, please note that per paragraph V-C of the 2nd Party Agreement, third and subsequent reviews will be charged at the current hourly rate in addition to the base contract amount. Occupancy Occup. This Office is only reviewing the Plans for ADA compliance. ARCHITECTURAL COMMENTS: Sheet A8.5 The accessible drinking fountain specifies a 13” clearance from the wall to the center of the waterspout. Please provide a minimum of 15” clearance. Reference 602.5 2003 ANSI A117.1. COMMENT REMAINS: The 1’-3” dimension stated in the response letter is the wrong 15”. The 15” required clearance is from the sidewall adjacent to the drinking fountain. Reference 2003 ICC/ANSI 117.1, Section 602. Sheets A3.1, A3.6 and A7.6 Elevations #1 and #4 show that the height of the transaction counter is at 2’10”, but at section 632A as shown on sheet A7.6, the height of the counter is specified at 42” (3’6”). Please coordinate and correct. Reference 309.3 ANSI 117.1-2003. COMMENT REMAINS: Sheets A3.1 and A3.6 were revised. A telephone discussion with the Architect indicates that a clarifying note will be added to Sheet A7.6 to specify that the accessible counter height will be held to 2’10” on the corrected plans when re-submitted for final review and approval. STRUCTURAL COMMENTS: Reviewed and accepted. PLUMBING COMMENTS: Reviewed and accepted. MECHANICAL COMMENTS: Reviewed and accepted. ELECTRICAL COMMENTS: Reviewed and accepted. ENERGY CODE COMMENTS: Reviewed and accepted. ACCESSIBILITY COMMENTS: Please refer to the Architectural comments for issues regarding accessibility. Sincerely, WILLDAN Chris Kiel, C.B.O., M.C.P.
