1. Second submittal for Baptistry Heater and Pump contained cut sheet information which requires a 15-A circuit breaker for the pump and a 30-A breaker for the heater. This does not correspond on the circuit breakers provided for Ckts LP1-33,35 and LP1-37. Please note that Sheet P501 calls for a 1 HP Pump, which would be 16A at 120V, which would not start on a 15-A circuit. Please coordinate with Plumbing and with the manufacturer, and clarify all this on the drawings. THIRD REQUEST.
2. Plumbing SheetS P401 and P501 call for a 11 KW heating system. This is inconsistent with the electrical load on Ckt LP1-33, 35 and the submitted cut sheet information. THIRD REQUEST.
3. Please specify the exact fault current rating for each panel.
4. Demonstrate compliance with the Tucson Lighting Code, http://www.tucsonaz.gov/dsd/Codes___Ordinances/Tucson_Lighting_Code.pdf. Second submittal does not include the information required in Section 8.1, 6c, which requires a statement of the size of the permitted parcel and allowable FCO and unshielded lumens. Please note that ALL lighting on this parcel is to be included in the calculations, including any which may be installed on the exterior of the existing buildings. THIRD REQUEST.
5. If the total lumens per acre is greater than 100,000, add a note to the plans requiring a Special Inspection. Reference Tucson Lighting Code, Section 16. This may apply if there is existing exterior lighting on the property which was not taken into consideration in the lumen calculation.

Bureau Veritas North America has completed a Third review of the following documents on behalf of the City of Tucson:


1. Plans: Two (2) sets of plans (46 sheets) dated March 15, 2005 by Antony C Tsang.

2. Structural Calculations: Two (2) sets of calculations, stamped by Bejun N. Anklesaria. Not dated.

4. Soils Report : One (1) copy dated March 2, 2005 by Oleg B. Lysyj.


These documents were reviewed only for their conformance to the provisions of the 2003 International Building Codes (i.e., State of Arizona and Pima County amended 2003 IRC, 2003 IMC, 2002 NEC and 2003 IPC). Our comments follow on the attached list.

Structural design calculations state use of 2000 IBC throughout. Code at time of submittal was 2003 IBC. Please make sure all referrals to code are 2003 IBC.

Provide complete floor and roof framing plans, or otherwise clearly communicate the construction of walls floors and roof on the plans.

All sheets that are listed on the index are not in the plan set.

09/11/2007 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Submit an appeal to the Building Official for permission to use a waterless urinal. Reference Section 301.2, UPC 2003.
2. Third request. Provide upper terminal cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipes exceeding 5 feet in length (horizontal drain lines serving sinks and urinals require cleanouts regardless of length). (e.g. L-6 (L-1?) in room 116, WC in room 117, and SS-1 in room 122) Reference Section 707.4, UPC 2003.
3. Third request. Provide a vent for each fixture trap. Note that a vent may not join another vent less than 6" above the flood level rim of the fixture it serves. Reference Sections 901.0, 910.1, and 905.3, UPC 2003. (e.g. rooms103, 104, 105, 116, and 117)
4. Show the trap arms for the water closets on the waste and vent isometrics.
09/13/2007 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Coordinate the information shown on the drawings to demonstrate the energy compliance of the building envelope with the information shown on the energy code calculations. The R-values of the insulation for the walls and the roof should match. Reference Section 104.2, IECC 2003.
2. The provided documentation is incomplete. Provide the calculations and test data alluded to in the methodology description. Reference Sections 106.3.1 and 403.2 (as amended by the City of Tucson), IMC 2003 and Section 6.3, ASHRAE 62.1-2004.
