This letter reflects comments to be addressed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide revised plans and calculations, highlighting any changes, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. SCOPE OF REVIEW: The scope of this plan review covers architectural, plumbing, mechanical, energy conservation and electrical. All code references are to the 2003 International Residential Code, 2003 International Energy Conservation Code, and Arizona State amendments to the 2003 Uniform Plumbing Code. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: All corrections and revisions shall be made on original tracings or finished reproducible set. Return this set and a copy along with a set of the first submission. Pen or pencil corrections on final prints will not be acceptable. To avoid delays, ensure that all corrections have been made, are complete, and have been coordinated on all applicable detail and note sheets. Provide a note for: Underground facility tracer wires per DSD Memo, 10/24/2005. FOUNDATION PLANS: 1. Show compliance with termite treatment specified by R320, as amended. 2. Epoxy connections require special inspections. If used, a special inspection request must be included with the permit application. FLOOR PLANS: 1. Provide all window sizes and types, and designate the operable portion of windows, as well as the location of tempered glass (within 24" of doorways and when less than 60" above tub/shower floors), R308.4. 2. Note that tub/shower enclosures shall have nonabsorbent surfaces to 6' above the floor, R307.2. All glass enclosures shall be tempered, R308.4.5. 3. Identify ceiling heights in all areas on floor plan, Table R602.10.5. Note average height at sloped ceiling areas. STRUCTURAL PLANS: 1. Truss calculations must be signed, dated and wet-sealed by an engineer who is registered in Arizona. Truss calculations shall be cross-referenced to the floor plans. If deferred, note on plans to submit for plan check to Residential review and submit two sets of calculations (sealed) with layout and copy of approved plans for review. SECTIONS - DETAILS - MISC. NOTES: 1. Note and specify all connections to frame or masonry. PLUMBING PLANS: 1. Using 2003 UPC to size your gas line I would like to see line from 1st tee (roof top unit) to range to be 1", and the supply from there to water heater/dryer to be ¾" minimum. 2. Please verify water supply line size. 3. Include hose bibs, and anything else omitted, in your calculations. ELECTRICAL PLANS: 1. Provide equipment rated for 22,000 AIC short circuit protection, 2006 Edition of Electric Service Requirements TEP SR-510. 2. Provide a panel schedule showing panel size, circuit numbers, ampacity, wire size and general description, E3304.11 & E3606.2. 3. Designate the circuit number at the location of each light fixture, receptacle, appliance and equipment disconnect switch, E3603.5. 4. Receptacle outlets shall be installed in habitable spaces so that no point along the wall (exclude door openings) is more than 6' from a receptacle outlet, E3801.2. Although not required, looking at your floor plan I suggest you install receptacles in entry. 5. Note that an arc-fault circuit interrupter shall protect bedroom outlets including receptacles, lights and smoke detectors, E3802.11. 6. Provide a note indicating only approved outlet boxes shall be used for ceiling fans, E4001.6. 7. You indicate "new" electric panel @behind door in bedroom 1. Please provide all details of its use. 8. You must change circuit 15:plan indicates supplying water heater and dishwasher. OUTDOOR LIGHTING CODE 1. Show compliance with City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code; the total property lighting limit for area E3 is 55,000 lumens per acre and the unshielded limit for area E3 is 12,000 lumens per acre. Include all exterior fixtures on the property in the calculations.
