The floor drains shown on sheet P1.0 are code-compliant but the architectural drawing, A1.1 has not been changed to show the floor sloping to the floor drains. Section 412.2.1, UPC 2003 requires the floor to be sloped towards the drain. Note that the "wash out" openings shown on the architectural floor plan cannot be approved without an appeal to the building official. 2. The drawing specifications for the urinal may call for 1 gallon per flush but the manufacturer of the urinal has designed the unit for 3.5 GPF with a 1-1/4" water connection for the flush valve. According to ARS Title 45, Chapter 1, Article 12, this is prohibited. Also, the standard unit is designed to only wash down its back wall at each flush, an insanitary condition per Sections 211.0 and 406.2, UPC 2003.
