This letter reflects comments to be addressed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide revised plans and calculations, highlighting any changes, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. SCOPE OF REVIEW: The scope of this plan review covers architectural, plumbing, mechanical, energy conservation and electrical. All code references are to the 2003 International Residential Code, 2003 International Energy Conservation Code, and Arizona State amendments to the 2003 Uniform Plumbing Code. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: All corrections and revisions shall be made on original tracings or finished reproducible set. Return this set and a copy along with a set of the first submission. Pen or pencil corrections on final prints will not be acceptable. To avoid delays, ensure that all corrections have been made, are complete, and have been coordinated on all applicable detail and note sheets. SITE PLAN: 1. Provide a note: Underground facility tracer wires required per DSD Memo, 10/24/2005. FRAMING PLAN: 1. Justify rafter size for span at new bedrooms. 2. Provide detail for scissor truss option or remove option from detail 1/S5 3. Cross-reference all details to the applicable portion of the plan. 4. Remove eave venting from hand-framed portion of roof or provide 1" airspace (R806.3). 5. Provide 2x blocking for lateral support at hand-framed rafters (R802.8). PLUMBING PLANS: 1. The City of Tucson has adopted the 2003 Uniform Plumbing Code with state amendments (ARIZONA STATE PLUMBING CODE). The plans should reference this code, or appeal to the Building Official for IRC design approval. 2. Provide size of all clean-outs. ELECTRICAL PLANS: 1. Indicate the location of all disconnect switches for air handling equipment. Indicate circuits on panel schedule and electrical plan (E4001.5). 2. Show locations of all smoke detectors. Smoke detectors are required outside each separate sleeping area (R313). OUTDOOR LIGHTING CODE 1. Provide cut sheets for all FCO fixtures showing the angle of cutoff, light emissions and fixture wattage. All other fixtures are assumed to be unshielded (non-FCO style).
