No response given to original correcton notes 1-13. Please be aware that additional corrections may be required for this project when new plans and structural calculations are submitted. Original correction notes follow.

1) 1997 Uniform Administrative Code - section 302.5 Inspection and Observation Program. When special inspection is required by Section 306, the architect or engineer of record shall prepare an inspection program which shall be submitted to the building official for approval prior to issuance of the building permit. The inspection program shall designate the portions of the work to have special inspection, the name or names of the individuals or firms who are to perform the special inspections and indicate the duties of the special inspectors.

The special inspector shall be employed by the owner , the engineer or architect of record, or an agent of the owner, but not the contractor or any other person responsible for the work.

When structural observation is required by Section 307, the inspection program shall name the individuals or firms who are to perform structural observation and describe the stages of construction at which structural observation is to occur.

The inspection program shall include samples of inspection reports and provide time limits for submission of reports.


2) Clarify / justify occupant load and fixture count.
3) Provide code analysis and specify type of construction and allowable square footage.
4) It appears building and covered porch north wall is on property line. Please justify per section 704.11 parapets and section 705.
5) Provide / clarify accessible route from parking lot to restroom and service counter. See ANSI A117.1 2003.
6) Drinking fountain spout heights and water flow ANSI 602.4 and 602.6.
7) Wind exposure B should be used per section 1609.4.
8) Provide lateral analysis including exterior dining enclosure.
9) Provide structural calculations / justification for column design at exterior dining area.
10) Provide structural calculations to justify reinforcement of exterior dining area walls.
11) Clarify placement and structural support for mechanical equipment.

12) Provide reviewed and approved shop drawings for trusses or request a deferred submittal by letter from the Building Official.

1. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum of 1/8-inch (all upper case). Reference Section 302.3, Uniform Administrative Code, 1997.
2. The design of the building appears to include an unglazed opening in the east wall. This opening does not meet the requirements of Section 802, IECC 2003. Demonstrate compliance of the building envelope using ASHRAE/IESNA 90.1-2001. Reference Section 801.2, IECC 2003.
3. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation. Reference Section 104.2, IECC 2003.
4. Provide the installed weight of all of the rooftop equipment. Reference Section 106.3.1, IMC 2003.
5. Provide manufacturer's equipment data along with mechanical and electrical operating information for the evaporative cooler, furnace, Type I hood, makeup air system, and the exhaust fans. Reference Section 301.6, IMC 2003.
6. Provide structural calculations to verify that the roof is capable of supporting the dead load due to the installation of the roof top units and the grease hood. Reference Sections 302.1 and 507.6, IMC 2003.
7. If the pitch of the roof exceeds 3/12, provide service space for roof mounted equipment. Reference Section 306.6 IMC 2003.
8. Show how adequate access (i.e. walkways across the light gauge metal roof to the equipment service area) is being provided for the equipment located on the roof. Reference Section 306.5, IMC 2003.
9. Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation. Reference Section 401.2, IMC 2003.
10. Provide information on the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust to show that recirculation of the air from the restroom will not occur. Reference Section 403.2.1, IMC 2003.
