07/11/2006 | PATRICIA GILBERT | ENGINEERING | REVIEW | Denied | An approved site plan is required prior to building plan approval. |
07/17/2006 | LINDA BUCZYNSKI | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL. PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT Linda.Buczynski@tucsonaz.gov IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. 1. Keynote 7 on Sheet es0.1 and Keynote 10 on Sheet es0.2 appear to refer to the same conduit run. However, Keynote 7 identifies 750 MCM conductor and Keynote 10 identifies a 450 MCM conductor. Please clarify/correct as necessary. Otherwise disregard. 2. On Sheet E1.1, Ckt L1-20,22, the receptacles on Ckt 20 are identified at their respective locations as being powered by Ckt 24. Please clarify. 3. Please address disconnecting means for EF-1 through EF-6, and for the RCP in Room 206. 4. On Sheet E1.1, it appears that the circuit designation DP-25,27,29 is intended to read: "DP-1,3,5." 5. Water Heater is specified on Sheet P3.1 for 240V. Power provided is 208V. Please coordinate with Plumbing and clarify. 6. HP-1 and HP-2, on Ckt DP1-18,10 each have MOCP of 15A per Schedule on Sheet M5.1. Please specify that their respective disconnects be fused (Specifications for combination controllers call for them to be fused as indicated, 16482, 2.5 B). Global comment for all others which may apply (HP-3,4, & 5, same Sheet E1.1). 7. Sheet E1.2 a note calls for the HP units to be on a 20AF, typical. MOCP is 15A. 8. Please provide a circuit for the AC-2 FCU. Sheet E1.2, Communications Rm 205. 9. On Sheet E1.3, please correct the circuit designation for HP-4 from DP1-10,12 to read "DP1-13,15." 10. On Panel Schedule DP1, HP-4,5,6,7,8,9, & 11 are listed at a lower rating than on the Split-System Heat Pump Unit Schedule. Please coordinate with Mechanical and adjust panel loading as necessary. 11. Please provide overload protection for the Existing Mill Pond Recirc. Pump. Reference NEC 430.32. If the motor is already protected by an integral OL device, or is not a Continuous-Duty motor, disregard. 12. On Sheet ES0.2, Keynote 2, denoting "existing feeder between zoo school and distribution switchboard," also goes to the existing service on the demo plan. If Panel A is powered from the existing service, please add it to the line diagram and load calculations. Otherwise, clarify the feeder routing on the plans. 13. Please plot the location of Transformer T-2. Electrical Plans Examiner to evaluate per NEC 240.21 on subsequent review. 14. Keynote 1, Sheet ES0.1 calls for a new 225A CB, at the existing service, for the new building. One Line Diagram shows a 300A CB. Please clarify. 15. 200A Feeder for Panel is inadequate for the calculated demand load of 209A on Phase A. Also note that the KVA figures for Phases A and B were slightly understated on the subfeed from Panel L2, which would contribute to an even higher value for the loading on Panel DP. And consider the multiplier of 1.25 for the largest motor if this has not already been rolled into this calculation. 16. AFC at Elevator disconnect is 1614A on the SLD and 4618 according to the calculations. Plans Examiner calculated this figure to be 8192, with only 13 feet from Panel DP to the Elevator. Not an immediate Code issue, esp, since the specifications call for current-limiting fuses, but the Engineer may care to clarify this at his discretion. 17. Please note that the Structural Plans Examiner has been given notice to verify that the weight of the 112.5 KVA Transformer installed in Room 204 has been accounted for in Structural calculations. If this has been coordinated, disregard. 18. For all lighting poles greater than 20' in height, detail and calculations for pole and foundation shall be prepared and sealed by a Registered Structural Engineer. 19. No elevator motor near bikes. Circuits provided just for sump and its control, pit light and receptacle. 20. This is not a Code issue, but please note that BP provides conductor and MC connectors for inter-module connections, and USE-2 Extension cable to go from the end module(s) to the row boxes. Depending on availability, this may be faster and less expensive than the XHHW-2 in conduit. 21. The panels which are in the strings of 4 and 5 will produce voltages below the Minimum DC input for the Sunny Boy 6000U. 22. Provide more detail on the photovoltaic equipment to be installed in Room 206, such that it is possible to evaluate all proper clearances per NEC 110.26 and the Manufacturer's instruction to maintain an 8" air circulation clearance around the Sunny Boy. Reference Installation Guide, p. 3-3, Dimensions and Recommended Clearances. 23. Show the location of Panel PV. 24. The 30A MCBs on Panels PV and DP, and the #10 conductor from Panel PV to Panel DP are undersized for the output circuit current from the three Inverters. Reference NEC 690.8 (A) (3). 25. Provide overcurrent protection in the Photovoltaic Source Circuits from the panels to the inverters. Reference NEC 690.9 (A). 26. Location of the disconnecting means for the photovoltaic systems does not meet the requirements of NEC 690.14 (C) (1). 27. Specify the signing required by NEC 690.17. Provide the EXACT WORDING on the plans. 28. Size the Grounding Electrode Conductor for the DC system according to the requirements of NEC 250.169. Minimum size is #8 CU. Reference NEC 690.47 (B). This can be accomplished by resizing the #10 CU GND between the Inverter and the SES, in which case the conductor will serve as both DC Grounding Electrode Conductor and AC Equipment Grounding Conductor. Note that this conductor has to be unspliced as it runs through its respective enclosures, per 250.62 (C). 29. At the PV Disconnects, specify the marking required by NEC 690.53. Provide the EXACT WORDING on the plans. 30. At the Panel DP, specify the marking required by NEC 690.54. Provide the EXACT WORDING on the plans. 31. At both the PV Disconnects and the SES, specify the plaques required by NEC 690.56 (B). Provide the EXACT WORDING on the plans. 32. It appears that the interconnection of the 30A Inverter CB to the 250A bus at Panel DP violates the requirements of NEC 690.64 (B) (2). |
