09/22/2006 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. The water calculations provided do not appear to take into account the head losses (e.g. static lift and backflow assemblies) that must be subtracted from the minimum available water pressure prior to using Table 6-5. The maximum allowable length referenced in Table 6-5 is the developed length of pipe from the water meter to the most remote outlet, not the length of pipe within the tenant space. The project appears to be part of a shell package, which should be noted on the drawing and the pipe sized on that basis. Reference Sections 610.4, 610.5, 610.6, 610.7, 610.8, and 610.9, UPC 2003. 2. Provide cleanouts for the water closet, lavatory, and mop sink, all of which have horizontal drainage pipes exceeding 5 feet in length. Reference Section 707.4, UPC 2003. 3. The specified grease trap (Jonespec GT-2700-20) has a 3" outlet. Installing a 2" outlet on the grease trap will retard the flow of water out of the grease trap and is not acceptable. Reference Section 311.5, UPC 2003. |
09/22/2006 | ROBERT SHERRY | WATER | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies shall be installed directly after the water meter for buildings that have food service facilities. If the reduced pressure backflow prevention assembly has been included with the shell package, show that on the drawing. Reference COT Ordinance 9976, http://www.tucsonaz.gov/water/docs/backflow-ord.pdf |
09/25/2006 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. The specified hood is UL 710 listed and as such requires the installation of a fire extinguishing system. Reference Section 1.3, UL 710 and Section 304.1, IMC 2003. 2. The termination of condensate drains over roof drains or gutters is allowed by the local amendment to Section 307.2.1.1, IMC 2003 provided that the roof drainage pipes "terminate at or above grade in an area capable of absorbing the condensate flow without surface drainage". Paved parking lots are not an approved termination point for the condensate drainage. 3. Second request. Provide structural calculations and details to show that the hood is supported from the building structure in accordance with Section 507.6, IMC 2003. |

Floor plan shows exterior wall on south & west elevation. 3) Provide complete detail for hanging connection for hood to structural frame. Provide roof framing with location of fan and hood in reference to layout of pizza oven. |
