When special inspection is required by Section 306, the architect or engineer of record shall prepare an inspection program which shall be submitted to the building official for approval prior to issuance of the building permit. The inspection program shall designate the portions of the work to have special inspection, the name or names of the individuals or firms who are to perform the special inspections and indicate the duties of the special inspectors. The special inspector shall be employed by the owner , the engineer or architect of record, or an agent of the owner, but not the contractor or any other person responsible for the work. When structural observation is required by Section 307, the inspection program shall name the individuals or firms who are to perform structural observation and describe the stages of construction at which structural observation is to occur. The inspection program shall include samples of inspection reports and provide time limits for submission of reports. 2) Shop drawing for elevator need a reviewed and approval stamp by Architect. 3) Sht. A1.0 clarify note 7 that existing masonry can carry new load of access platform for elevator. 4) Page 5 of 6 special note of shop drawings. Clarify / justify wind loading effects are not considered in these calculations. Consult manufacturer. 5) See table 407.4.1 ANSI A117.1 2003 minimum dimensions of elevator cars it appears the elevator car does not meet these standards. 6) Shop drawing states side walls / guard rails will be detailed by others. Detail 4/A1.0 states to see shop drawings. Clarification / justification of guardrail needs to be provided per 1607.7.1 handrails and guards. 7) Per 2003 IBC - justify per ASCE 7-02 see sht. 2 structural calculations. |
