PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT Linda.Buczynski@tucsonaz.gov IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. 1. Provide catalogue cut sheets for the PV modules, including listing information. 2. Provide sufficient information to demonstrate that all terminations of Inverter and combiner box are rated for 90°C, or use the 75°C column for calculations. 3. Provide cut sheet and listing information for the J-boxes. 4. Provide listing information for the Combiner Box. 5. The Photovoltaic Output Circuit (run between the Combiner Box and the Inverter) conductors, of calculated ampacity 13.92A, is not sufficient to be installed without an Overcurrent Protective Device. Reference NEC 690.9 (A). Note that with the inverter maximum utility backfeed current of 20A, added to the calculated short circuit current from the panels, the Exception to this Code Section can not be evoked. 6. It is not clear that the AC/DC Disconnect Switch indicated on the plans meets the intent of NEC 690.15. If such disconnecting means is integral to the inverter, it may not serve to disconnect the inverter itself. 7. Specify the marking required by NEC 690.14 (C) (2). 8. Provide specifications and the exact wording on the plans for the warning sign required in NEC 690.17, by the DC disconnect. 9. Specify the method of connection between panels. Unless such method is by cable and connectors supplied by the panel manufacturer and listed, provide sufficient information in such specifications to demonstrate compliance with NEC 690.33. 10. Show the DC Grounding Electrode Conductor and its attachment to the Grounding Electrode. Minimum size #8 per NEC 250.166 (B). See the attached article, Grounding Utility-Interactive PV Inverters. 11. Provide specifications and the exact wording on the plans for the marking required in NEC 690.53, by the DC disconnect. 12. Provide the rating of the AC panel, and rating of its main OCPD. This information is needed to evaluate per NEC 690.64 (B) (2). 13. Electrical site plan shall document location of all equipment. 14. EMT is questionable for this application. Suggest the use of IMC. |
