The provided roof drainage calculations justify the size of the rain leader but the sizing of the scupper for rooms 133A and 133B is questionable. The effective roof area, including the surrounding vertical walls is approximately 2288 square feet (Section D3.2). At a rainfall rate of 3" per hour, the scupper will have to handle a flow of 71 GPM. Assuming a head at the weir of 2", an 8" wide weir can handle only 64.4 GPM. Revise the size of the scupper to handle the required flow. Reference Appendix D, UPC 1994.
2. The slot in the collector box should be adequate to handle the required flow but the size of the overflow weir used in the calculations should be reduced to account for the size of the 8"x8" metal sleeve that enters the collector box.
