This letter reflects comments to be addressed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide revised plans and calculations, highlighting any changes, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. General Requirements 1. All corrections and revisions shall be made on the original tracings and two new sets of prints or (1) sepia and (1) blue line shall be returned. 2. Pen or pencil corrections on final prints will not be acceptable. To avoid delays ensure that corrections have been made, are complete and have been coordinated on all-applicable details and notes. Site Plan 1. Size new water line. Floor Plan 1. Specify use of rooms in existing house where windows will be infilled. Note egress if any room is used as a bedroom per R310. Structural Plan 1. Provide justification of 1-hour construction (UL listing) of metal siding over gable truss within 3' of side property line. Also, roof eaves within 3' of property line must be protected by a 1-hour wall. 2. 2'-8" braced wall adjacent garage man-doors require tiedowns per R602.10.6. Specify. 3. Submit special inspection form for field welds. Plumbing Plan 1. Gas line is 3/4" at new house garage and then move up to 1" in middle of yard. Clarify. 2. Specify total developed length for gas line. Maximum length with specified load and 1" line size is 80' per table 12-3, 1994 UPC. 3. The City of Tucson has adopted the 1994 Uniform Plumbing Code with state amendments (ARIZONA STATE PLUMBING CODE). All plans must reference this code. 4. Revise fixture unit schedule per table 6.3 and use table 6.4 to size water line. If new unit is to be on same meter with existing house, all supply fixture units (new and existing) shall be included in total. Main line to existing house may need to be resized. My count for the new supply fixture units is 30 f.u. 5. Water heater pt&r line is a minimum 3/4" hard copper (or CPVC). 6. Provide trap for laundry sink. Mechanical Plan 1. Return air ducts shall be sized per IRC sections M1602.2. (gas furnace - 2 sq. in. / 1000 BTU; heat pump / air conditioner - 6 sq. in. / 1000 BTU) (1ton cooling = 12,000 BTU). 2. Return air cannot be taken from kitchen per M1602.2 (on page A-12). Electrical Plan 1. Provide switch for stair lights a bottom of stairs. Outdoor Lighting Code 1. Show compliance with City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code (www.ci.tucson.az.us/dsd/Codes___Ordinances/Tucson_Lighting_Code.pdf). 2. Provide cut sheets of chosen lights.
