This letter reflects comments, which need to be addressed by a written response to each, indicating action taken. In order to facilitate a shorter back-check time, we request that you please provide two (2) sets revised plans and calculations, highlighting any changes with appropriate revision number, revision date, and “cloud bubbles.” Please replace all revised drawing sheets, in all sets of plans, before returning to Willdan for the follow-up plan review. Sprinklered Alarms Assembly 273 I-B-AS 5,927 Yes Yes GENERAL COMMENTS: This project has been reviewed for conformance with the 2003 IBC, 1997 UAC, 2000 IMC, 2000 IECC, 2002 NEC codes with local modifications, and the 1994 UPC with State of Arizona Amendments. Any revisions to this plan will require an additional review and approval by Willdan. Correct the address for this project on all sheets. The attached Pima County Official Address Certificate shows an assigned address of 110 East Pennington Street. If there is a question concerning the address, please contact the County Addressing section at Pima County. ARCHITECTURAL COMMENTS: Sheet 1A-1 and 1A-3 Please correct the wording of the sign on the main entry door #100 to read, “THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED”, in accordance with the 2003 IBC, section 1008.1.8.3.2.2. It appears that floor plan keynote #40 was used where #42 should indicate the convex mirror for the blind corner safety. Please verify and correct. Sheet 1T-1, 1A-2 and 1A-3 The sheet index shows door and finish schedules on 1A-2, yet they are on sheet 1A-3. Please revise. Reference 2003 IBC section 106.1.1. The door schedule shows a door 102A, however, no such door is shown on the floor plan on sheet 1A-1. Please clarify. Reference 2003 IBC section 106.1.1. The west wall of the women’s toilet room is missing the finish (CT-1). Please correct. Reference 2003 IBC section 1210.2. At enlarged restroom plan #3, a keynote #1 seems to be incorrect. Please verify and correct as appropriate. Reference 2003 IBC section 106.1.1. Sheet 1A-4 and 1A-5 Provide an 18” long vertical grab bar at the sidewall of the ADA water closet. Mount with bottom of bar at a minimum of 41” above the floor and center of bar at a minimum of 39” to a maximum of 41” from the rear wall in accordance with the 2003 ICC/ANSI 117.1, section 604.5.1. Clarify the mounting of the toilet tissue dispenser at a minimum of 7” to a maximum of 9” in front of the water closet. Reference 2003 ICC/ANSI 117.1, section 604.7. STRUCTURAL COMMENTS: Reviewed and accepted PLUMBING COMMENTS: Sheet 1P-1 and 1P-4 The gas piping shows a reduction to 2” prior to the solenoid gas shut-off valve on sheet 1P-1, while the gas piping schematic on sheet 1P-4 shows 2 ½” pipe to the stub-outs to the kitchen equipment and keynote #11 on 1P-1 shows 2 ½” down in the wall with the stub-outs to the kitchen equipment. Please correct. Reference 2003 IBC, section 106.1.1. MECHANICAL COMMENTS: Reviewed and accepted ELECTRICAL COMMENTS: Sheet E-102 and E-401 Please coordinate the circuits shown on E-102 with the panel schedules on E-401 for E-28 and the fly fan and correct on E-102. Reference 2003 IBC, section 106.1.1. On sheet E-401, panel schedule PCK1, correct the equipment numbers on circuits 22, 38 and 40 to agree with sheet E102. Reference 2003 IBC section 106.1.1. Sheet E-201 Revise the lighting fixture schedule note on #7. The suspended ceiling system shall be installed in accordance with the 2003 IBC, section 803.9.1.1 and the ASTM C635 and C636. The allowable lighting energy is incorrect. The Tucson sustainable energy standard adopted by Ordinance #9813, table 603.1, allows 1.0 watt per S.F. for a restaurant. Revise the lighting (interior) to comply. The 2003 IECC is not yet in effect. It will be in effect October 1, 2005. Provide exterior light fixtures on the emergency circuit or to the emergency battery at the emergency exit discharge doorways in accordance with the 2003 IBC, section 1006.3.5. ENERGY CODE COMMENTS: See electrical comment #2 on sheet E-201 and revise the interior lighting to comply with the sustainable energy code, adopted by Tucson ordinance #9813, table 603.1 for 1.0 watts per square foot allowed for a restaurant. The building envelope and mechanical energy calculations have been reviewed and accepted. ACCESSIBILITY COMMENTS: The accessibility provisions have been reviewed. Correct the toilet rooms in accordance with architectural comments 1 and 2 on sheets 1A-4 and 1A-5. Reference 2003 IBC and the 2003 ICC/ANSI 117.1.
