06/15/2006 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Detail 4/P2 has been modified to call for a new water heater to be mounted on the floor; keynote 4/P1, however, still calls for the water heater to be mounted above the ceiling. Please coordinate. Reference Sections 103.2.3 and 511.2, UPC 1994.
2. Insulate the first 8 feet of the supply and discharge piping of the water heater per Section 804.5, IECC 2003.
06/15/2006 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Coordinate the hood design elements as shown in the keynotes, exhaust hood calculations, and the mechanical floor plan (e.g. Exhaust hood 10' x 3', or 12' x 4'?).
2. Revise the installation of the hood to provide 18" of clearance between the hood and combustible construction. Note that wood studs covered by gypsum board and a sheet of stainless steel is considered combustible construction by the IMC (e.g. the north partition can be made with wood studs per keynote 21/A2). Reference Section 507.9, IMC 2000.
3. Specify the minimum resistance (R-value) of the duct insulation to be used on this project. Reference Section 803.2.8, IECC 2000.
