11/08/2005 GERRY KOZIOL WWM REVIEW Denied 1. LA FRESITA RESTAURANT- ISSUED WITH GREASE INTERCEPTOR.
2. NEED TO CLARIFY PLMB DRAWINGS- (PLANS, ISOMETRICS, SCHEDULES & KEYED NOTES NEED TO MATCH.)
3. NEEDS WASTEWATER 8TH FLOOR CREDIT EVALUATION.
11/09/2005 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. The structural calculations submitted by the architect are incorrect and insufficient to show that the building structure will not be overstressed by the addition of the proposed equipment. Provide structural calculations to show that RTU-1 and MAU-1 (both greater than 23 PSF) and the combination of EH-1 and EF-1 (860 lb and 150 lb respectively per the submitted information) will not overstress the roof. Reference Section 302.1, IMC 2000. Note also that Section 507.6, IMC 2000 requires the calculations to include the possible weight of personnel working on the hood. The architectural pitch pocket detail referenced on detail 3/M1 is not included in the drawing set.
2. The current drawing shows 50 cfm of air from MAU-1 being supplied to each restroom. Provide information on the sequence of operation for the exhaust fans in the restrooms to show that recirculation of the air from the restrooms will not occur. Reference Section 403.2.1, IMC 2000.
3. Correct the submitted common ventilation calculations to show that the quantity of outside air for RTU-1 is in accordance with Section 403.3.2, IMC 2000. (Note that in equation 4-1, Z equals the fraction of outside air supplied to the critical space, 246/500 in this case, not 246/1000.)
4. Provide a detail to show how the Type I hood is supported from the building structure. Reference Section 507.6, IMC 2000.
5. Provide information to show that the make up air for the kitchen hood complies with Section 508.1.1, IMC 2000. (Cooling is not an issue but heating is.)
6. The minimum insulation for ducts (including flex duct) located in unconditioned spaces within the building envelope is R-5 (installed). Clarify how the ducts are to be insulated; the mechanical specifications, which have not been revised, call for both 1" and 1-1/2" duct wrap. Reference Section 803.2.8, IECC 2000.
11/09/2005 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. The revised water heater detail (4/P2) shows a shutoff valve located between the expansion tank and the water heater. Revise the detail to conform to the product listing.
2. The specifications have been revised to show PEX tubing with a manifold distribution system. Provide pipe-sizing calculations for this material and show a design for the manifold distribution system.
3. Provide the listing information for a reduced pressure backflow preventer having a pressure drop of 1.5 PSI. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994.
4. The water demand fixture units for water supply outlets not listed in Tables 6-3 or A-2 (e.g. MAU-1 and the ice machine) shall be computed at their maximum demand or using the fixture units shown at the bottom of Table 6-3. Reference Section 610.3, UPC 1994.
5. Provide calculations showing water supply piping is sized in accordance with Sections 610.4, 610.7, 610.8, 610.9, and 610.10, UPC 1994. Appendix A is not applicable because this project has less than 50 fixture units and a developed length less than 200 feet. Reference Section 610.4, UPC 1994.
6. Comment not addressed. Floor sinks and floor drains can't be connected to a grease trap. Reference Section 1011.3, UPC 1994.
