| 06/29/2005 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Based on Table 12-3, UPC, a minimum branch size of 1" is required for each oven. Remove or correct the two different gas pipe calculations. 2. The calculations do not support the pipe sizes. The pressure drop of the reduced pressure backflow preventer seems to be too low; what is the make and model of the backflow preventer? Reference Sections 610.1 and 610.5, UPC 1994. 3. Provide a trap for the floor sink located under the 3-cmpartment sink. Reference Section 1001.2, UPC 1994. 4. Neither the condensate drain from the walk-in cooler nor the drain from the evaporative cooler may be directly connected to the sanitary drain system. Reference Section 807.1, UPC 1994. |
| 06/29/2005 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Show the termination of the condensate from the walk-in refrigerator. Reference Sections 103.2.3 and 801.1, UPC 1994. 2. Provide information on the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust to show that recirculation of the air from the restroom will not occur. Reference Section 403.2.1, IMC 2000. 3. Comment not addressed. Ventilation for restrooms in public spaces requires a minimum of 75 CFM of mechanical exhaust per water closet or urinal. Reference Table 403.3, IMC 2000. 4. Show the termination of the drain from the evaporative cooler. 5. Comment not addressed. Clarify the ventilation calculations shown on sheet M1. The calculations appear to require 521 CFM of outside air but the plans call for only 176.5 CFM. 6. Comment not addressed. Clarify the amount of makeup air being supplied. A note on the mechanical floor plan and Keynote 13 call for 2000 CFM but the equipment schedule calls for 2250 CFM of makeup air. |

PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT Linda.Buczynski@tucsonaz.gov IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. 1. "Minimum font size is 1/8". Enlarge as necessary." THIS COMMENT WAS MADE ON THE FIRST SUBMITTAL. Please comply. 2. Add the track lights to the lighting fixture schedule. 3. "Provide IECC 2000 calculations for the Lighting Power Budget if the building was constructed after 1994." THIS COMMENT WAS MADE ON THE FIRST SUBMITTAL. Reference Table 805.4.2. 4. Ckts A-18, A-19 and A-20 do not appear to meet the requirements of NEC 210.21 (B) (1) Single Receptacle on an Individual Branch Circuit. Please specify that this receptacle shall be rated 20A. Typical for any such circuits. 5. Load for Equipment E16 Freezer is switched with that of Warmer on panel schedule Ckts 17 and 18. 6. The outlet for E29 New Mixer, a 2-pole load, is not defined on the Schedule of Symbols. 7. Equipment E29 consumes 4600 VA of power according to the panel schedule. This computes to over 22A, which shall not be on a 20A circuit. 8. "Electrical Power Plan does not appear to have a circuit for E15 Heavy Duty Table, which draws 10.1 A per the Equipment Schedule." THIS COMMENT WAS MADE ON THE FIRST SUBMITTAL. Response duly noted as "Deleted". Equipment E-15 has not been deleted. It resides center north on the Electrical Power Plan. 9. Provide a disconnect for the new Oven per NEC 422 Part III. 10. Size the conductors for the new Water Ckt 10,12. 11. Provide the feeder size for New Panel A. 12. Provide fault calculations for New Panel A. Fault calculations as submitted are for Panel H, which are not necessary for this project. 13. "Plot location of service entrance on scaled drawing. Plans Examiner to verify distance to new panel." THIS COMMENT WAS MADE ON THE FIRST SUBMITTAL. Response duly noted as "See Site plan." Could not tell exactly where existing service entrance is from Site plan. 14. "Provide service load calculations per NEC 220, or justify the use of 15VA/SF for HVAC and 10 VA/SF for restaurant equipment per this Article." THIS COMMENT WAS MADE ON THE FIRST SUBMITTAL. Response duly noted as "See panel schedule for loads calculation." Panel schedule does not provide service load calculation. Please review Article 100 for definitions relating to services and feeders. |
