| 05/25/2005 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Provide a natural gas schematic showing the loads and developed lengths of the piping. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994. 2. Size natural gas pipe using Table 12-3, UPC or provide calculations demonstrating conformance to Section 1217.3, UPC 1994. 3. Drawing P1indicates that the water supply comes through a submeter from a site system. Calculations based on the water pressure available from Tucson Water must start at the main water meter and include the pressure drops caused by all of the meters, backflow devices, and similar devices in the system. The developed length in this case would be the developed length of the overall water system. Reference Sections 610.1 and 610.5, UPC 1994. 4. The sanitizing basin of the 3-compartment sink must discharge to an indirect waste receptor but the other two basins must be directly connected to the building drain. Reference Section 801.2, UPC 1994. 5. Provide additional cleanouts in drainage pipe for each aggregate horizontal change of direction exceeding 135 degrees. Reference Section 707.5, UPC 1994. 6. A note on sheet P1 refers to new appliances to be directly connected to the water system but no appliances are shown. Show the appliances in question. |

| 05/26/2005 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Show how the condensate from the walk-in refrigerator will be disposed of. Reference Sections 103.2.3 and 801.1, UPC 1994. 2. Provide information on the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust to show that recirculation of the air from the restroom will not occur. Reference Section 403.2.1, IMC 2000. 3. Ventilation for restrooms in public spaces requires a minimum of 75 CFM of mechanical exhaust per water closet or urinal. Reference Table 403.3, IMC 2000. 4. Show the size, route, and termination of the drain from the evaporative cooler. 5. Clarify the ventilation calculations shown on sheet M1. The calculations appear to require 521 CFM of outside air but the plans call for only 176.5 CFM. 6. Clarify the amount of makeup air being supplied. A note on the mechanical floor plan and Keynote 13 call for 2000 CFM but the equipment schedule calls for 2250 CFM of makeup air. |
| 05/31/2005 | LINDA BUCZYNSKI | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL. PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT Linda.Buczynski@tucsonaz.gov IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. 1. Minimum font size is 1/8". Enlarge as necessary. 2. Provide a fully developed lighting fixture schedule for all fixtures, and cut sheets for all new fixtures. 3. Provide IECC 2000 calculations if the building was constructed after 1994. 4. Electrical load for tenant sign (Ckt A-4) shall be 1200 VA per NEC 220.3 (B) (6), 1500 VA considering continuous loading. 5. According to the panel schedule Ckt A-1 has only lighting. However, there is a receptacle in this circuit according to the Electrical Power Plan. Please clarify. 6. Ckts A-6 and A-27 do not appear to meet the requirements of NEC 210.21 (B) (1) Single Receptacle on an Individual Branch Circuit. Please specify that this receptacle shall be rated 20A. Typical for any such circuits. 7. According to the panel schedule Ckt A-1 has the pepsi cooler. However, there are receptacle outlets in more than one location on this circuit according to the Electrical Power Plan. Please clarify. 8. Pepsi cooler has 500 VA per panel schedule Ckt A-19. Per Equipment and Fixture Schedule this draws 7.5A, or 900VA. Please clarify and correct. 9. According to the panel schedule Ckt A-16 has only the warmer. However, there are receptacle outlets in more than one location on this circuit according to the Electrical Power Plan. Please clarify. 10. Equipment E16 Freezer is on the opposite side of the wall from the receptacle outlet which powers it. Please clarify and correct. 11. E29 New Mixer, as a 2-pole load, can not be powered on a duplex receptacle. 12. Verify all loads, typical, as being either cord-connected or hardwired. Only the loads which are cord-connected may be powered on receptacles. If not cord-connected, such loads shall have the proper Code-required disconnects. 13. Dough Roller has 1400 VA per panel schedule Ckt A-14. Per Equipment and Fixture Schedule this draws 14A, or 1680VA. Please clarify and correct. 14. Electrical Power Plan does not appear to have a circuit for E15 Heavy Duty Table, which draws 10.1 A per the Equipment Schedule. 15. Provide a circuit for the GFI receptacle by the Mop Sink. 16. Provide a disconnect for the Walk-In Cooler, Kitchen Exhaust Hood, and new Oven per NEC 422 Part III. 17. Two existing AC units are listed on the panel schedule. Load information is filled in for only one of them. Please clarify and correct. 18. Equipment E20 Walk-In Cooler is indicated in one room, but its circuit, A-23,25 originates in the adjacent room. Please clarify and correct. 19. Provide power requirements for the Evaporative Cooler on the Mechanical Plans. 20. Specify that the maintenance receptacle for EC-1 is not on the load side of the disconnect per NEC 210.63. 21. Equipment Schedule for E10 calls for the electrical to be single phase, but 3-pole 4-wire. Please clarify and correct. 22. Interlock Diagram puts all circuits on Panel F2. No such panel this project. Clarify and correct panel designation and then loading of each circuit. 23. #2 conductor has ampacity of 115A per NEC Table 310.16. Overloaded at 143A high phase. Correct, then re-calculate fault calculations as necessary. 24. Plot location of service entrance on scaled drawing. Plans Examiner to verify distance to new panel. 25. 100 A disconnect and fuse are over capacity at 143A high phase. 26. Provide service load calculations per NEC 220, or justify the use of 15VA/SF for HVAC and 10 VA/SF for restaurant equipment per this Article. |
| 06/03/2005 | RAUL PALMA | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1) Sheet a2, under general notes, specifies the 2000 IBC instead of the 2003 IBC.
