06/21/2005 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Provide information to show how the water piping was sized. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994. 2. Drawing P1.1has not been revised. The two-way cleanout being installed in the existing 4" building drain is in violation of Section 707.6, UPC 1994 in that one of the cleanouts is not installed in the direction of flow. 3. Drawing P1.1has not been revised and detail 2/P2.1 has been eliminated. Provide an air inlet for the flow control device connected to the grease trap in accordance with the manufacturer's listing information. Reference Section 1011.0, UPC 1994. 4. Provide justification for reducing the inlet and outlet of a 50-GPM grease trap from 4" to 2" along with the manufacturers literature that allows this modification. Reference Section 316.4.1, UPC 1994. 5. Drawing P1.1has not been revised to show a trap for the 3-compartment sink. The specified grease trap does not provide a water seal of at least the diameter of its outlet and may not be used as a fixture trap. Reference Sections 1011.8, UPC 1994. 6. Clarify the size of WH-1; it is shown with 100 gallons of storage and with 20 gallons of storage (detail 1/P2.1). 7. Drawing P1.1has not been revised. Coordinate the location and number of indirect waste receptors as shown on drawing P1.1 with drawing K-2. 8. Confirm that the water heater is not located at a height greater than 8'-0" AFF if access is not provided per Section 511.2, UPC 1994. |

07/18/2005 | LINDA BUCZYNSKI | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL. PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT Linda.Buczynski@tucsonaz.gov IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. 1. "New WH is 5.0 KW, 180(!!!)/3/60, 18.0 FLA on Sheet P2.1. Is 208/1/60, 41.6 FLA according to Sheet E1.2. Coordinate with Plumbing and clarify." THIS COMMENT WAS MADE ON THE FIRST SUBMITTAL. Electrical Engineer's response duly noted. However, WH-1 on Sheet P2.1 still calls for a 3-phase unit dual simultaneous 5 KW element, not a single phase unit. Product information, attached, calls for 208 as a standard voltage for three phase operation, unbalanced delta. 12. "Provide calculations for the existing busduct, and for the electrical service." THIS COMMENT WAS MADE ON THE FIRST SUBMITTAL. Electrical Engineer's response duly noted. Two voice mail messages were left with Paul Cabrera at Tucson Mall (293.7330) with the intent of verifying that such monitoring program is still in place after the sale by General Growth. Did not receive return call. If Tucson Mall maintenance conveys that it is still with the monitoring program, disregard this comment. Otherwise, please provide the calculations. |
