05/03/2005 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Provide information to show how the water piping was sized. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994. 2. The two-way cleanout being installed in the existing 4" building drain is in violation of Section 707.6, UPC 1994 in that one of the cleanouts is not installed in the direction of flow. 3. Provide an air inlet for the flow control device connected to the grease trap in accordance with the manufacturer's listing information. Reference Section 1011.0, UPC 1994. 4. The specified grease trap has a 4" outlet: a 2" waste line cannot be used for this trap. Reference Section 316.4.1, UPC 1994. 5. The specified grease trap does not provide a water seal of at least the diameter of its outlet and may not be used as a fixture trap. Reference Sections1011.8, UPC 1994. (Note: detail 2/P2.1 shows the grease trap installed backwards.) 6. Clarify the size of WH-1; it is shown with 100 gallons of storage and with 20 gallons of storage (detail 1/P2.1). 7. Coordinate the location and number of indirect waste receptors as shown on drawing P1.1 with drawing K-2. |
05/04/2005 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Revise the size of the grease duct to provide a minimum velocity of 1500 feet per minute. Reference Section 506.3.5, IMC 2000. 2. Provide information to show that the main grease duct provided by the landlord for the kitchen hoods complies with all of the exceptions for Section 506.3.6, IMC 2000. 3. Coordinate the Type I hood to be installed. Sheet M1.1 calls for a CaptiveAire hood (at 2550 CFM exhaust) but sheets K-1 and K-4 call for a Designer's Choice hood (item #48, with 289 CFM/LF exhaust). 4. Provide structural calculations and details to show that the Type I hood is supported in accordance with Section 507.6, IMC 2000. 5. Provide information to show that the fans supplying the required makeup air (in addition to the air being supplied directly to the hood) are electrically interlocked to the hood. Reference Section 508.1, IMC 2000. 6. Clarify the amount of makeup air being supplied directly to the Type I hood; 2040 CFM per the schedule or 2000 CFM as shown on the drawing. Indicate what the maximum makeup airflow for proper operation is per the hood manufacturer. Reference Section 508.2, IMC 2000. 7. Provide access to the refrigeration equipment located above the ceiling. Reference Section 306.3, IMC 2000. 8. Provide information to show that the refrigeration equipment located in the return air plenum is rated for use in a return air plenum. Reference Section 602.2.1.4, IMC 2000. |

05/11/2005 | LINDA BUCZYNSKI | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL. PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT Linda.Buczynski@tucsonaz.gov IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. 1. New WH is 5.0 KW, 180(!!!)/3/60, 18.0 FLA on Sheet P2.1. Is 208/1/60, 41.6 FLA according to Sheet E1.2. Coordinate with Plumbing and clarify. 2. Sheet M1.1 calls for power to VAV-1 and VAV-2. Please provide such circuitry on Electrical Plans. 3. Minimum font size 1/8". Please enlarge as appropriate. 4. Specify the circuits for the electrical loads described in General Note 2 on Sheet E1.4. Provide panel, circuit number, and loading for each dedicated circuit serving a computer system, LAN hub, or cash register. 5. General use receptacles, Ckt A-37, not subject to the 0.65 demand factor for kitchen equipment. 6. E-18A, Ckt A-25, printer and veriphone, not subject to the 0.65 demand factor for kitchen equipment. 7. E-3, juke box, Ckt A-18, not subject to the 0.65 demand factor for kitchen equipment. 8. E-3B, CPU, Ckt A-22, not subject to the 0.65 demand factor for kitchen equipment. 9. E-3C, printer, Ckt A-24, not subject to the 0.65 demand factor for kitchen equipment. 10. Item E-8 on Power Plan. Electrical keynote calls it Item 5A at 4.2A, 1-phase, 120V. Item 5A on Sheet K-1 is 3-phase 22.4 A. Coordinate with Kitchen Equipment and clarify. 11. It is my understanding from the Mechanical Plans Examiner that E-8, E-9, E-10 and E-11 are two split systems with compressor/condensers on the upper level and evaporator/fans on the lower level. This is not clear from the plans. For example, Equipment E-8 and E-10 are associated; the circuit is A-13,15 at 12A and 208V 1-?; yet Item 5A on Sheet K-1 is 22.4A and 120/208 3-?; Keynote E-10 calls for a ¾ HP single phase load but it is not clear how this is to be powered; Keynote E-8 calls for a 120V 1-? 4.2A something but it is not clear how it is to be powered. Equipment E-9 and E-11 are associated; the circuit is A-7, 9, 11 at 25A 208V 3-?; Keynote E-11 calls for a 3-? 208V 1.5 HP load; it is not clear if the 25A is to supply the 1.5 HP load as well as the load on the Freezer fused at 30A; Keynote E-9 calls for a 120/208V 1-? (?) 15A load but it is not clear how it is to be powered. Sheet M1.1 calls for Equipment FS-5A to be typical of 2, but Electrical does not present this way. 12. Sheet M1.1 specifies VAV-1 and VAV-2. Provide power. 13. Provide the weight of the 75 KVA transformer and contact the Structural Plans Examiner regarding any requirements for mounting details/calculations. 14. Provide calculations for the existing busduct, and for the electrical service. |
