See section 704.2.3 It appears underside of overhang and facia will need to be fire rated. Your argument is only good at the location of wall, once the projection proceeds past the wall it must be fire rated. Per your request I referred your response to Dave Mann and his interpretation agrees with as I stated above. 2) Permit will not be approved until zoning has approved site plan. |

| 12/02/2005 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. The revised drawings do provide upper terminal cleanouts however Section 707.11 requires that the cleanouts "not be less in size than that given in Table 7-6." As a result, each change in pipe size that results in a change in the cleanout size will require an additional cleanout of the proper size. The section of 3" building drain located between the connection of the lavatory and the water closet in the South apartment requires a 2-1/2" cleanout as does the section of 3" building drain located between the tub and the water closet in the North apartment. (Note that changing those sections to 2" pipe will resolve the problem.) 2. The provided water supply isometric displays two problems: some of the pipe sizes are too small based on your calculations (after correcting the arithmetic, the allowable friction loss is 8.8 PSI / 100 feet) and the termination of the hot and cold water piping does not conform to Section 601.2, UPC 1994. |

See NEC Handbook, commentary to 210.12 for clarification. |
