| 06/08/2005 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum of 10 points. Reference Section 302.3, Uniform Administrative Code, 1997. 2. Provide a detail of the water heater installation. The depiction of the water heater on the floor plan does not indicate that an expansion tank has been installed. An expansion tank is required whenever a check valve has been added to the building water supply. Reference Section 608.3, UPC 1994. 3. Show the size, route, and termination of the excess pressure relief for the water heater. Reference Section 608.5, UPC 1994. 4. Show the shut off valve for the water heater. Reference Section 605.5, UPC 1994. 5. Revise the provided riser diagrams to show all of the plumbing fixtures (e.g. include the kitchen sink, KS, and the floor sink) that are connected to the waste and vent system. The waste line for the service sink (SSn) is noted as new but the schedule lists the clothes washing machine as existing; please clarify how the clotheswasher was previously drained and vented. Show the waste piping on the floor plan. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994. 6. Cleanouts located on the sink traps must be sized to support the diameter of the waste pipe per Section 707.11, UPC 1994. 7. The size of the reduced pressure backflow preventer for the building water service is too small to support the calculated demand. Similarly, the water meter has an excessive pressure drop, and is too small for the demand. Provide calculations to show that the water piping in the building can support the existing and proposed fixtures. Reference Sections 610.2 and 610.5, UPC 1994. 8. Is the dishwasher a new installation? Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994. |
